But the number of problems these two sisters have, I was left wondering how these two even stay in contact with each other. At least one of the plot devices Roberts uses will have the power to catch you off guard, and there's a sudden drop into darkness that is -- frankly -- probably scarier than anything with teeth. There are no ghosts or pool monsters in this film, but they do attempt to make things a bit more interesting by adding a seemingly crazed janitor. Confused yet Anywayyy the lady was going to shoot both of them dead but she couldn't go through with it and instead returned the engagement ring. The biggest problem with this movie is the characters. How does this one compare to the others? I decided to tap into that fear and the concept blossomed from there. I would say it's a surprise considering how I ended up watching this film but now I don't think that. Not one single character here is likeable. Once underwater, the many obstacles keep the story moving briskly, from the depth of the water to the lack of air to the sharks themselves, which can pop out at any moment. The truth is someone is there watching them. Their worst fears soon become a reality when the cage breaks away from their boat, sending them plummeting to the ocean floor with a dwindling supply of oxygen.

The movie keeps repeating the same things over again, and we have a villain who tries to play sympathetic, but she's just as bad as the sisters and the nasty pool owner. These are the things that I found most appealing about 12 Feet Deep. I'm ok with films like this, that try to be inventive and make the most of a simple story concept. She's a parolee and a thief. I sadly feel everything else fell short for me.
