Disney's decision to have the bloopers and music video at the end of the feature and not as additional bonus features is an interesting one. Especially with the Muppets conforming their entertainment in their past productions, they could have easily taken that route. Gonzo screws up the post office machinery. Although crisp and strong, the sound mix isn't too active, with surround channels used sparingly on music and more sparingly on sound effects. That's how it is; that's the natural way of this franchise.
Kermit, Fozzie, a guilt-wracked Gonzo, Rizzo the Rat and non-believer Pepe the King Prawn hop on a plane literally from North Pole Airlines. Christmas specials today often do that, and it's really annoying, irritating, and, well, just untrue. Other than 'My Best Christmas Yet' the songs are just a little to forgettable. Officer Frank Meany Nathan Lane , who has been a bully since not receiving his most wanted present from Santa, eventually lets them go, but they only get to the North Pole hanging tight onto the plane wing. Since the bit rate is fine, I have to guess that the problems were a part of the original filming modest digital video, no doubt. Thankfully, these eye-inducing moments aren't as bad they could be because it's the Muppets.
It's not to say it isn't funny or doesn't work but the story almost had a finale that would've seemed more mature and realistic than what was chosen. I'm sorry, but when it's the Muppets Anything, it should be them starring. But I wouldn't want to see it again, making it only slightly better than Oz and not on par with what the Muppets should be putting out. Disney Cruise Line had a stage show. Many things could have helped what felt like a half-assed hack job.
At this length, though, it's clearly bonus feature material and not something you'll want to see every time you watch the special. True to tradition, the Muppets here share the screen with some famous humans in small, fun parts that the movie somewhat conservatively categorizes as cameos. The Muppets return to New York with several scenes shot on location. It has its moments, but it is a shame especially about the writing and music.
Fan site Muppet Central created by Phillip Chapman. First and foremost, The Muppets and voice-actors themselves. Whoopi Goldberg, Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane and other sensational guest stars join our fuzzy friends on a wild and wacky Christmas adventure full of side-splitting laughs and memorable music. Cameos from Uma Thurman, Nathan Lane, Mayor Bloomberg! Whether they like it or not. It's cute, but it's not what I want to see from the Muppets.
I love Kermit with Miss Piggy. I'll spare you any spoilers. Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzy, and the rest of the Muppet crew go to the post office to deliver letters to Santa. Pepe I will pay someone to step on him fly to the North Pole to give the letter to Santa. Also, why are the Muppets in an urban New York setting here? With this comes cliché and convenient contrivances that either defy logic or are impossible to begin with. This one is finally on that level.
