I too have an intermittent instrument cluster. It can be seized in place, pull and wiggle firmly and it will break loose. This may cause inaccurate readings, including the speedometer and fuel gauge. While driving at various speeds, the speedometer gave incorrect readings. You pay all this money for a vehicle and something like this happens!!!. While driving 60 mph, the instrument panel gauges became inoperable and the vehicle shut off.
Last year my temperature gauge was getting stuck after I turned it off. Anyone know if this is possible? This will not reset the radio and clock. I have the same problem that all the gauges are out. When this happens the door chime will not come on when the door is opened with the key in the switch. That's as far as I've gotten in troubleshooting. Almost as mystereously as they quit they started working again. Each time after I would restart the vehicle the speedometer would drop slightly about 5 - 10 mph at a time till it reached 36mph, then it would not drop any lower.
The manufacturer was notified, and she was waiting for a response. One thing ive found out with the 95's is that it isn't very compatible with other models. And here's where I'm stuck. And the back lights to the Tachometer, Speedometer, gas, oil, battery, and Temp Gauges do not work, as well as the back light to my climate Control. No use of oil gauge. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000 and the current mileage was 110,000. The manufacturer was later contacted and advised the warranty was extended past 70,000 to 80,000 miles however, the contact's vehicle had very recently passed 80,000 miles.
This time I took it to the dealer. Does anyone know how much this would cost out of warranty? While returning from vacation, the instrument panel did not work after starting the vehicle. The gas cap was not sealing. I'm sure you can get through this simple operation with a minimal amount of do-it-yourself auto repair skills. The instrument panel cluster has been replaced and the check engine light would remain illuminated.
