You can feel the diode through the wrap. Remove the kick panel which is right next to the foot rest on the drivers side and where the fuse box is located. Apparently Sorentos are notorious for this particular problem, they looked made an adjustment and now it's a waiting game to see how long the bulb lasts. There should have been a forced recall for the entire electrical system on this model. If you are lucky to find the diode it would be a very quick fix but as I stated before, good luck finding it. Maybe the panel switch is for dimming purposes only and really not able to turn the light on separately. There is obviously a problem with the electrical system in these vehicles but kia will not acknowledge any problems.

With everything working reassemble all the interior trim and overhead dome lamp being careful not to pinch and wires. You have to remove the kick panel or get access to the wires behind the panel.
