The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. I got scared, and stopped waited 30mins then turned it back on, and lights were still on. I was there for 5 hrs and he didn't complain or disappear on me, which let's me know he was dedicated to helping find the best option for me. When I hit a bump, the front end sound like there's something loose. The failure mileage was 36,000 and the current mileage was 59,000. Even partial help with the repairs would help. Please investigate this matter as many other Pacifica owners have encountered this.
So now my transmissions jerks, they said they fixed my motor mounds and that would fix it, but didn't. My brakes are now knocking, and they said it will do that because the car notices water on road so they knock. It will get up and go when you want to get on the interstate. It does make a wierd gringing and jerking motion just before the light comes on but not always sometimes it will just come on as I am traveling without any warning. .
Run Away if offered a Pacifica! After 7 or 8 ignition cycles it finally worked. And they sometimes weren't coated well enough at the supplier if buying one, regardless of year, check the engine mount and subframe for rust. Also, when I brake, the car makes a huge thud sound. The vehicle was not repaired. So they replaced the front, and orders a rear. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.

When I came to a hill I shifted down to i have an autostick 2nd gear then to first and it sounded like it was grinding. Mechanic cannot fix the problem. Dealer tryed to concel problem with pto unit that they knew was faulty, after taking car home, on a we had to order new part they let me drive this car with no repairs made at that time. Almost as though it is difficult for it, especially coming down from about 35 miles per hour and lower down into the second to 1st gears. First while in motion the vehicle would tremor in the front before shutting down, particularly if going above 25-30 mph.
The manufacturer was aware of the issue. After three days the stated the axle bolts needed to be retorqued. The manager at the dealership stated that this was not a problem that Pacifica's had and seemsed to be unique to this car ,and a few others. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the manufacturer was contacted. Worked for a week and now is back. This has been a known issue to Chrysler and they are not assisting current owners with repair. The failure mileage was 109,000 and the current mileage was 111,000.
Took it to the dealership, they said we don't know, good luck. So in total it stalled out on me 6 times twice on freeway the rest on city streets just to get home. Said this is common to Pacifica's and my problem was not as loud and as bad as other Pacifica's they have seen and worked on. It is comfortable as a passenger and driver. Had this tested, fuel system was fine; yet problem consisted. Most of the time it would read empty when the tank was half full; or empty when the tank is full. They had done an engine and a transmission diagnostic to find that there were error codes displayed from the transmission, re-set it, and advised that I will need a new transmission.
Control board under drivers seat broke and won't adjust seats. You have to press on gas hard, thus sending the car rapidly forward or backwards, just to get it to go. I was told continuing to drive the car was dangerous, but this is a very costly fix - more than the car is worth - considering Chrysler will not take responsibility for not coating the engine cradle to prevent this from happening. I had a great experience with Kenneth Barnes as my dealer. I may change the computer myself.
It kept feeling as if it was stalling when stopped at light and trying to accelerate. Chrysler customer service will not assist with cost of repair or stand behind their vehicle. Response is that car is unsafe to drive, park it and never get behind the wheel again, is what I have heard from all 3 mechanics. As if to say, it is not worth fixing. Also you do not want to roll the windows down in the back if you are driving down the road.
