There must be a bad connection somewhere. The deluxe interior is very nice for a truck this age, and the dash and seat are very solid, although there are some minor cracks in the dash and a few small tears in the seat. I would hop in, put a 10,000 lb. There was a slide in camper int eh bed at one time. You are encouragedto come and see and drive the truck before bidding or purchasing.
The inside of the bed has a bed mat. The rest hold air, but need to be replaced soon. I have seen a lot of Chevy pickups from the 1980's, and I have never seen a 1 ton 4x4 dually diesel like this one, let alone one that has a body this straight, and with a Gear Vendor overdrive installed in it. On the a post there are threaded holes for mounting hardware. All four doors and tailgate open and close as they should. There are a number of areas where there is surface rust that someone tried to hide with white spray paint, and two small major rusty areas that have rusted through at the rear bottom area of the cab. The harness is built to be plug and play. The hood has a few spots the clear coated is peeling. We just installed a new headliner. Exterior: See pictures The paint shows some of it's age. This one is a Silverado. It has dual gas tanks and they both do work. Floor carpeting, door panels, etc.
Super heavy duty Dana 60 front end with manual hubs and Dana 70 rear end. Also, the grab strap on the driver's side door needs to be reattached. The paint shows sign of the bed being used but it has no rust that I have seen. This one is rustfree from California, and only has 80k miles on the odometer. Truck starts right up and goes down the road great. This 4x4 hasn't been a beat work truck. As you can see from the pics it hasn't had any type of an accident.
This is a as is sale. I searched for a clean crew cab for a while before buying this one. Is very highly optioned, especially for a 1 ton dually pickup truck. It makes a rattling sound. The L front tire is new. I could have taken a pray can and shot a little paint on there and it would look perfect, but I don't try to do that kind of stuff.
The truck runs very good transmission shifts great. Even the bed floor, and upper bed rails are straight. If you are not familiar with these overdrive units, here is a link that helps to explain how they work, and their advantages. The body is straight, and it has nice looking smooth shiny paint, but isn't perfect. Most of these items are straight-forward, uncomplicated repairs, but I am very busy working right now and just don't have the time to fix them. It has a straight body and is 100% rustfree from Arizona. On the passenger fender there is a spot of rust it looks to be surface rust to me with a slight dent.
This is a nice no excuses real 4x4 that drives like new. All six of the tires are in good shape Interior: The seats are in great shape. Some are a little slow going up. The truck itself still it's original paint on most of it. That was either a factory graphic, or dealer installed back in the day. No unusualnoises coming from engine, trans, t case or axles. Drives down the road smoothly and solidly as it should.
I can't document the miles, but she is clean. It has a nice sounding radio. It looks as the bracket for the camper tie down rubbed something. Needs new harmonic balancer pulley. But included with the sale of the truck is a brand new wire harness for the power windows that includes all new resistors that will make the windows one touch down like newer vehicles.
