Im not cheap when it comes to using the right oils. I was driving from K. Have the new sensor ready to thread in as you will lose some oil out of the block once the old sensor is removed. One little bit of that sludge gets in there and thats it, time for a new engine. Truck restarted without any real problems, but the drop in oil pressure happened 3 more times within a 4 mile range from my home. I took it to my mechanic who is an old and trusted friend.
Does anyone know what causes this? Now reconnect your harness, push that red tab back in, and you're all set. Buy around 100,000 the fuel gauge stopped working. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. Don't know if this is the pressure switch or the pressure is really low. Here recently i have been loosing oil pressure. Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto.
So does this mean the motors cooked? Remove the air filter housing and its right there. It's a 10 minute job that took me 20 because I had to use an adjustable wrench. What happened with mine was when i would just start to drive it after warming it up alittle id let off the gas to coast down a hill or come to a stop and the oil gauge would drop to 0 and the chack gauges light would go ballistic. Another reason why Im not a fan of remote oil filter kits. We immediately changed oil and it happened again and had to get towed home.
I looked at replacing the oil pump myself but apparently you have to unbolt the engine and raise it up just to get the oil pan off. When I come out of the curve it starts to read again. The cheapo wal mart gauges that you can buy for like 15 bux do not belong on a vehicle. I stopped at an auto parts and changed the oil right there in the parking lot. Left the engine running and drove away but gauge never showed pressure. I've never had a problem with leaks with copper supply lines. Care to buy us a beer? Tried another start and the pressure was ok.
. No oil pressure, and the truck shut off. I just had the motor rebuilt, two main bearings had turned and I had the crank shaft turned and polished. I say we all get together and start writing nasty letters to Dodge. Its very annoying as I never really know how much gas I have other than guessing by mileage but even that is….
He also showed me the oil pump and th hole for picking up oil is way to small for this size engine. Brought to you by www. This is not right, we paid cash for the darned thing and it sits useless in our front yard. It is an 05 Ram 2500 This just happened with the truck pictured in my sig. Changed oil first to eliminate that as the cause. As soon as the truck gets to running temp the oil pressure drops and my truck shuts down.
He said we have to replace engine and showed me the problem. This truck had consistent oil changes every 3000 mi. I wonder if the thread coating on the dealership part was preventing it from grounding properly. Not much at all if you have the new one ready to go in. Thread in until there are only 2-3 threads left just see how far in the old one was, that's what I did. I'd sell it but with gas prices so high nobody will give you anything for it.
Picked up the sensor today. At the time in 2006 it only had 22000 miles on it, but now has 91000. I thought this was wrong due to the fact I have had the oil changed every 3000 miles or less. After reading all these other complaints I think Dodge should pay us for our troubles and buy the truck back. For mine, it only acted up when it was very cold out like when air temp was around 0 F.
I just had tranny rebuilt 6 mos. Well about two miles farther down the road and it starts running rough. You ever heard of a Cummins with a rod knock, now that is loud!! The Advance part did not have any coating or teflon on the threads which may not seal as well, but it clearly did not hinder the unit from grounding. The entire assembly pops right out. This gets very annoying having to start my truck two times in a row.
