I've never put anything but 5W-20 oil and premium gasoline in the car. However, it is unknown if the replaced engine fixes the problem or if the problems start all over again. This is confirmed by the fact Mazda has extended the warranty on all Rx8 rotary engines and there is a recall on all rotary engines for testing to see if the engine needs replacement. The mazda rx8 has problems like any other cars. The issue I seem to have is when I make multiple stops on errands its just stalling out on me. This is my first experience with Mazda and my last. The same weekend I received a letter from Mazda warning me of the problem and to bring it in for a recall.
They had no suggestions because I'd exhausted all the crap they'd been telling me for months! The current mileage was approximately 37,800. Anyway, If you love the car, dirve it and enjoy it, life is short. They aren't bad cars but you have to run the thicker oil and they will run for practically ever. It actually took four full repeats, but voila…. There's post after post in different forums around the net that describing the same thing happening to other people ex.
Normal running compression is maintained by the cooling system. That assumes you use a 5. I gather from this the engine needs to spin faster to create a higher compression. Not only did they produce a flimsy product, but now I have to pay to have it fixed. Mazda has replaced the entire engine, battery, and coils. The heat is dissipated in normal running , once stopped the water gets extremly hot and the casing is not being cooled thus expands and gaps appear.
I wrote Mazda consumer compliance and gave all documentation related to my car and they offered an extended warranty and guaranteed my car was fully repaired. Has anyone else had this problem? I called mazda and apparently it was a known issue. Would any manufacturer run that risk with its flagship family vehicle? The Mazda forum is full of similar episodes and I was encouraged to file a complaint. The dealership claims it's fine but I don't think this is how the car is suppose to run. I also got online and found out that this is a common problem. This has happened to a few individuals at highway speeds where the inability to shift the transmission can be fatal. Im now looking at possibly upgrading my starter motor to something more powerfull.
Does anyone else have this problem? This is very unsafe considering the fact that when it breaks, the clutch pedal itself can move horizontally and get lodged under the brake pedal causing the driver not to be able to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that he took his vehicle in for a recall repair. I had one service rep at a mazda dealership off of the Soutwest freeway tell me that my brake fluid was dirty. The failure mileage was approximately 37,600. Well everything was fine until about two months ago. Removal is recommend to reduce power drain on the battery, to prevent fuel vapour blowing back in to the chambers, and to reduce the possibility of a backfire after starting which can damage the catalyst. The early motors had odd problems with carbonization as well.
However I spoke to my local mechanic about this and he has found out that the new starter from Mazda themselves does not really sort this issue out. The failure was not repaired. The contact stopped at a red light and the gear did not immediately shift into first gear. I brought the car in last week, and guess what? Please recall this car and correct this on going dangerous , life threatening problem. But the apex seals always seemed to fail first in the later engines if my memory serves. Remedy Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump filter kit, free of charge. I want to join everyone's efforts in getting Mazda to pay up! I had 2 Mazda's in the past that were great cars.
These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. My dealership have only replace one motor and one tranny for now. Needless to say, I went to a different Mazda dealer. Having read a few links on various sites it would appear that this i not as it should be, although the dealer told me this was standard for the rotary engine. I find myself dilly dallying to waste time on short errands.
I have installed a reinforced bracket at my own expense and still need to make some adjustments because it has unaligned the gears in the transmission. The vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. The underlying cause of these issues differ. Eiher connect to an additional high capacty battery, or to another car with its engine running. A class action law suit will straighten out Mazda and increase the life of our cars and make the car worth a proper amount when traded. I printed the procedures listed here and went out to give it a try.
I put a new one,but it still wont start. The car will restart straight away when the temp is between cold and normal. Now avoid stopping engine to refuel so Pay Pumps only. The recall you discuss was clearly a bandaid if this is a problem which continues to happen. I had my clutch hose rupture requiring a tow to the dealership for replacement - not a big deal can happen to any car. Some kits include them, others have them as add-ons. I forget which one it is, but one has been identified by the community.
Seems to be a defect in the rotary engine. Now they are 5 years or 50K or 60K. This is just the standard part of the recall. But he was firm; Mazda factory rep's decision was final. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist.
