A voice speaks to Danny, claiming to be part of The Eye, the underground consortium of magic and illusion. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. However, it was quite clearly stated that Henley decided to leave the Horsemen, and since there must be four, she was replaced by Lula. From the childishly annoying character that Lizzy Caplan plays, to the horrendously unfunny identical twin that Woody Harrelson plays, I was cringing in my seat and praying for deliverance. Unfortunately, the trailer is infinitely better than the actual film.
Five minutes pass, and Lionel never resurfaces. Danny is sick of hiding out and not having made progress over the past year, but the voice tries to assure Danny that things are about to pay off. Now, one could argue that Lizzy Caplan's character was intentionally annoying, and that Woody Harrelson's twin character was intentionally unfunny, and while I would agree with that, it still didn't make for an enjoyable viewing experience, especially when these two characters had a significant amount of screen time. It's just a completely forgettable film in every way that will leave your mind as soon as the credits start. Since then, Henley Reeves has left the group. We see a video from Thaddeus in the present as he sits in his prison cell.
Daniel Atlas Jesse Eisenberg is walking through a tunnel that leads him into a room. It's just a really light, breezy, nonstop fun movie, and it knows it. I mean honestly, I'm having a hard time writing this review because I can't even remember what I disliked about this movie. One year after outwitting the F. Written by Goofs In Now You See Me 2013 it is quite clearly stated that The Eye only recruits new members every 50 years, and yet Lula May Lizzy Caplan was recruited just 18 months after the rest of The Horsemen.
Huh, come to think of it, maybe this film did do something right after all: it disappears completely, just like a real magician would. After fleeing from a stage show, the illusionists Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson known as the Four Horsemen find themselves in more trouble in Macau, China. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all. Honestly, this movie was embarrassing to watch. People begin to panic, and Dylan tries running toward the water, but he is held back by authorities. . Meanwhile, Dylan Shrike now played by Mark Ruffalo is still playing out his own act as an agent by pretending to be on the trail of The Horsemen, despite being their mole. And the trailer for this movie looked like it would be more of the same, which I was completely fine with. . .
