I have a friend who is going to help me hard wire the media player my router is in the office in the basement and see if that helps in case the wi-fi connection is too weak for some reason and is the issue. And especially thanks to Helge for putting this together. On top of that, the issues happened not only over Wi-Fi connections, but also when an ethernet cable was plugged in. My solution so far is pausing the streaming like every 10 minutes. So it seems like anyone with less than a truly fast processor, including most older ones etc, will have this issue? Previously, my problem would noticeably surface about 15-to-20 minutes into a single stream.

In this kind of scenario, playback may freeze from time to time when frames are dropped while the player tries to catch up and get going again. Both work, are fast on Speedtest, and there are no more audio problems in streaming media! Select one that is closest to the current unsupported wifi card, and force it. Just confirmed the issue is back when using a plugged in headset and on battery. The balanced scheme has it set to 5%. After only about 10 minutes of playback, the audio was far enough ahead of the video that the delay was easily noticeable and quite annoying. So he surmised that should not be the issue.
