I did Not like how Carla was tricked into signing herself into the psychiatric ward. Also, mania is only part of it and movies tend to focus on that It doesn't show enough of the depressive aspects which are the majority of the disorder. With the movie not that much but it is still good. Kirby's rants, twitches, and physical resemblance to a young Mark Ruffalo bring to mind last year's smart, far subtler family drama , in which Ruffalo played a bipolar father with similar theories about how medication slowed him down.
