The folding roof worked well, but did add a lot of wind noise, on top off all the engine noise and tyre noise! It was a very fun little car--for a young person. I managed to get myself into a curve that tightened considerably in a blind section, started to lose the tire track in the road, and got into the gravel that was on the center line. The only problem I have with this car is when the free servicing runs out so then does your bank account. No other car provides as much fun, style, and econonomy as does the Mini.
It packs a lot of punch for a small car--definitely gets up and goes--and the handling is great: very tight and sporty. Add in some rain and changing lanes can be a bit of a lottery. All Mini Convertibles have a power top, which takes about 15 seconds to fold in Z fashion and come to a rest behind the rear seats. I owned a lot of luxury, high end vehicles in my life and this car became my absolute favorite almost immediately, so much that my new car is now a 2011 Mini Cooper S. I loved her immediately and really began to enjoy driving, and made excuses just to drive somewhere. And, I enjoy having people yield me the right of way because they're too busy staring at my car to take it. I was told that the 2007+ models have a Peugeot engine, which are more prone to failure than the 2001-2006 models. And as expected of a car with a wide track and wheels at its outermost corners, the car carved through turns, with mild understeer appearing just as yaw control kicked in.
