And nothing much is made of it. Overall I give this a C rating. In the first 1 minute of watching this film about 1 hr into the movie and seeing the horrible camera angles, acting, dialog and lesbian kiss, i swear it was a Canadian film, but its not!! I rather watch an equally low budget Dr. The cities are protected from the inhospitable Martian atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. How it was approved beyond first draft, or suggesting ideas stage, is beyond comprehension. These actors should not quit their day job.
In fact, it's so bad that it doesn't even qualify for so bad it's campy good. The cities are protected from the inhospitable Martian atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. But there is one aspect to the film which was refreshing. Set in the distant future, a large portion of humanity lives on Mars, in cities that resemble those once found on Earth, protected from the alien atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. When a massive sandstorm breaks through the dome and destroys Mars New York, those in Mars Los Angeles must figure out how to stop the storm before it wipes them out next. The predictability may have been forgivable if the film was actually engaging let alone exciting but it fails to be either throughout. One person is holding a rope attached to another.
The 3d modeling and compositing is pretty good, but it really looks like something from the knight rider days. . Why make this crap and who would spend money selling this to the network. As long as your willing to look and laugh over some beers, then give it a miss. Acting was a little iffy in places but who can blame them when everything was so cheap! I had to chime in. When a massive sandstorm breaks through the dome and destroys Mars New York, those in Mars Los Angeles must figure out how to stop the storm before it wipes them out next. There is absolutely nothing thrilling, tense, suspenseful, emotionally investable or fun about the story.
For a low budget production, especially one from this production house, the effects are not actually all that bad - certainly watchable. From the very beginning to the very end a void. The sand storm is only adequate. Very much the same as what was said about 'Alien Convergence' and a few other Asylum efforts seen recently. Synopsis In the distant future, a large portion of humanity lives on Mars, in cities that resemble those once found on Earth. It's very drably and sometimes dizzyingly shot, incoherently edited bacon-slicer-like with glaring and unforgivably sloppy continuity errors and even the scenery doesn't make much impression despite being actually the least bad aspect of the film. I feel sorry for the creators of it, because they seriously lack talent at what they do.
The cities are protected from the inhospitable Martian atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. In the distant future, mankind lives on Mars, in cities that resemble those once found on Earth, protected from the alien atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. The cast of this movie came straight from the Steven Seagal acting school. Go back to critic school! Asylum has a long history of shitty movies, and quite honestly, I don't how how they can afford to keep making garbage like this. I wouldn't even normally review a movie this bad but after reading the only other review Lordkrythic who's review is equally bad.
No, no, no, never again! Martian Land 2015 In the distant future, a large portion of humanity lives on Mars, in cities that resemble those once found on Earth. Lets not get started on how insultingly nonsensical and ridiculous it is, things similarly are so vague and confused that coherence was also a major issue in places. Are you serious, did they run out of money for wardrobe? Helmets were for Welding, seats in spaceship curtesy of Ford Escort, while the controls from the cockpit of 50's aircraft that wobbled constantly. The cities are protected from the inhospitable Martian atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. The wardrobe seem to consist of armore for dirt bikes and paint balling.
It's not played up for titillation. The people of Mars Los Angeles must then prepare for the storm's arrival. The dialogue is utter gibberish and truly juvenile and unnatural, even by The Asylum standards and even in their best efforts the script is one of the weaker assets. That they are gay is not a problem for the characters, or anyone they encounter. The cities are protected from the inhospitable Martian atmosphere by dome-like force-fields. It's truly embarrassing that this movie even passed the brainstorming stages. Most seemed to be bits begged, borrowed or stolen from movie sets from the past 3 decades.
There is a sub plot about a father and daughter who are estranged. There was no acting, there was nothing that could actually save this. Is snakes on a plane worse or better than this? Now, the acting, is absolutely tragic. A void that was so vast that engulfed everything and everyone that were and took part in this. After seeing 'Martian Land', giving it a fair chance and trying to not let bias get the better of me, as much as it actually pains me to say it do agree with everybody else who not only found it an awful film but also one of The Asylum's worst. Your psychic powers have not failed you, this movie is atrocious.
