I managed to get new replacement tires for free at America tires which does not happen often because i stated road noise was bad. Usually in the 20-45mph range. Check the tires for proper air pressure and make sure you don't have a loose wheel. This is the best way to balance tires and the Roadforce will tell you if a tire has a defect in it thats causing your problem. There is no vibration after 1000rmp.
The steering wheel has no shimmy to it, it is just a vibration. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Rotate like booyah said and see how it feels. Nov 13, 2008 that sounds like the pressure regulator of your brakes is broken. On my 03 car I get this vibration mainly when I'm in drive but not moving. I did check the pressure and all tires were correct. Can you power through the vibration like go 60 and then coast back through? With the wheel clear of the ground, turn it by hand for a few turns.
That's when the rotors, often due to heat-build up from heavy or repeated use, not enough air-ventilation in their design, or simply poor-quality steel in them, warp into an out-of-round shape and wobble a little as they spin with the wheels. So, while your shimmy-problem may or may not be 100% traceable to this specific cause, if it is in fact the rotors, don't be surprised if you end up needing at least a partial, if not a full, brake-job. Farmore likely are out-of-round brake rotors, caused either by heat-buildup or by uneven deposits on them. Apart from that a great car! Anybody having a problem with a virbation through the streeing wheel and foot pedals at 750rpm? Actually, it was more like the front wheels were vibrating, but I could feel it through the steering wheel. Perhaps it is time to balance all 4 tires. I have seen new rotors that had to be turned because they weren't straight. My local dealer has told me that this is know problem on a few cars according to Lexus but there is no cure.
Often, with new or re-finished rotors, it will make sense to also replace the brake pads, as the pads may also be unevenly worn from the vibration, and it would make little sense to try and match them up with new or re-finished rotors. In this case, there is just a vibration but no shake. I had a tire that gave me fits because the balance was always changing. You may need to check your rotors and make sure they do not need replaced and check the breaks while you are at it. My Mate has the same problem with his beams altezza.
I'd get the dealership to check it. Perhaps you have an internal issue with the tire? If the rotors are excessively worn beyond that minimum figure, a reputable brake-shop will not put them on the lathe truing up badly-worn rotors could be risky or even dangerous , and brand-new rotors will have to be used. I really notice it while cruising at 65 or 70 mph on a really smooth road. I took it to the dealership and they fixed it completely. In really severe cases, you may even feel it through the steering wheel.

The calipers, of course, which fit over the rotors, also shake and vibrate with them, but you don't usually feel that at lower speeds or until the brake pedal is pressed, which transmits more of the vibrations from the warped rotors through the hydraulic braking system and brake-lines to your foot through the pedal. A good mechanic will be able to tell you within 10 minutes of taking off the front wheels. Pressure regulator is the main cause for problems like this. A while back I noticed that there was a vibration coming through the steering wheel. I am very familiar with tires being unbalanced and this is not one of those cases. I don't think it is anything to do with being an automatic and the car wanting to pull away due to the increase in revs as the vibration does happen on the move if only briefly.
Sometimes it's more noticeable than others. I really notice it while cruising at 65 or 70 mph on a really smooth road. I am very familiar with tires being unbalanced and this is not one of those cases. I'm gonna say check the balance. Do both wheels and double check the front.
