Edit: My credit limit is well under 1 million dollars, I wasn't particularly worried that it would go through. But I have to say that sometimes I just don't like the jokes or the way Oliver tells them or acts them. I have two complaints: Sometimes the mic on the crowd sounds like a laugh track. For people who don't know, Oliver lured away the talented Tim Carvell, former head writer for the daily show, away from Jon Stewart. The order wouldn't go through. If you can't do that, take the bitter pill.

The show is equally as funny and clever as The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Hannibal comes along and I'm mesmerized for a few months, then I have to wait like a pregnant woman for the next amazing moment. And in spite of it being a comedy show, he tackles very serious issues in just the right manner. He focuses more on international issues. I find I'm actually learning things, being educated. But hey, that's Oliver we are talking about so what can I truly expect.

You can disagree with the law for plenty of reasons, but arguing that it's abhorrent simply because it restricts what people can broadcast is inane. With his insightful wit and fearless candor, comedian John Oliver, formerly of the The Daily Show 1996 , reviews the crazy current affairs happening in America and around the world. It's ridiculous to make a law that limits free speech in how footage of parliament is used! Just let it all out, John! Maher has some strange opinions, to be sure, but at least they're always uniquely his own. There's something about this show that I really genuinely like and I'm an Australian. There is something disconnected in their mind to where they feel everything is out to get them and people who know that and exploit that. Go away John Oliver, and take all of your 5 fans with you.

I love that you could hear John's voice shaking from an urge to laugh when he talked about Ed Balls's tweet. After seeing Oliver act campy for so long, it's hard to take him seriously as a host. In the few episodes that have aired so far, John has proved, at least to me personally, that him and his staff are capable of having very sophisticated opinions on some very deep issues. This show leaves you with no excuse to ignore anything anymore. The segment in which he shows the globe with countries marked as Not the U.
The show tackles issues that are essential to our everyday lives, perhaps not the most obvious problems, but surely really fundamental ones. John's fans are 18-24 year old spoiled wealthy liberal college hipsters that think they know it all. This guy, John Oliver, is seriously brilliant! John's back, says it's self inflicted and we deserve it! I love that he is not afraid to say anything about anyone in spite of real threats. It takes a stance where overwhelming evidence lies and doesn't pussy out like other news. Primarily I'm excited to see a comedy news anchor go after the things that have been off-limits for comedy central personas due to their network status. It's great to see talent like that finally get its due share of hate mail.
