Discovering the remnants of an old beach store, the entire group strips to swimsuits and sets out to make the uninhabited island inhabitable, but they're unaware that this seeming paradise is actually just the dead calm before the storm. At the beginning of the semester, Takashi Komuro has a social separation with his childhood friend Rei Miyamoto. As these monsters begin terrorizing a high school, Takashi Kimuro is forced to kill his best friend when he gets bitten and joins the ranks of the walking dead. Meanwhile, after escaping from a warzone between mad survivors and zombies, Takashi and Rei learn that all of the bridges have been blocked by the police and military to prevent infected civilians from coming in. Soon, Takashi and Rei band together with other students on a journey to find their family members and uncover what caused this overwhelming pandemic. Summary: It happened suddenly: The dead began to rise and Japan was thrown into total chaos.
Takashi goes to warn Rei and his best friend Hisashi Igo, who is dating Rei, and escapes with them just before news of the attack spreads across the school, causing panic. Joining them is Saeko Busujima, the beautiful president of the Kendo Club; Kouta Hirano, an otaku with a fetish for firearms; Saya Takagi, the daughter of an influential politician; and Shizuka Marikawa, their hot school nurse. But will the combined strength of these individuals be enough to conquer this undead apocalypse?. Vowing to protect Rei Miyamoto, the girlfriend of the man he just executed, they narrowly escape their death trap of a school, only to be greeted with a society that has already fallen. Having spent a day at Saya's mansion which has been heavily fortified, the group needs to decide if they should stick with her family and staff and be treated as kids or go off on their own and retain their independence. Takashi and Saeko acquire an amphibious vehicle to help evade the zombies and set up on a sand bank in the middle of the river. However, Saeko freezes when she comes across some zombie children, forcing Takashi to help her.
Later, they ditch their vehicle in a park fountain to lure the zombies while Saeko attacks them. Saya is mad at her father for presuming she was dead during the outbreak while taking action to safe guard the neighborhood, but Takashi snaps at her since her parents are proven to be alive, which calms her down. At Kansai International Airport, Rika Minami and her squad from the Special Assault Team helps in the evacuation of civilians by clearing zombies at the runway. The survivors are shocked to learn that the zombie pandemic has spread worldwide. However, when one of the survivors accidentally makes a sound, they have to fight through a horde on the way to the bus, losing some survivors in the process.
When an unplanned stop on a deserted island gives Takashi, Saeko and the rest of the ragged band of survivors a chance to expose themselves to something other than zombie bites for a change, they're more than ready to take a break and let their hair down. After encountering another group of survivors, Takashi tests a theory on avoiding the zombies based on how they can only react to sound. With the apartment cleared, the girls refresh themselves in the bath while Takashi and Kohta check the weapons and ammunition in the household. . . . .
