Life just can't get any better. When you launch the Gwent application executable, regardless of whether GoG Galaxy is open in the background in all its glory, it'll still tell you to open GoG and then relog - which of course entails restarting. We get a lot of the same questions. So this is still happening after the patch. They're not releasing anything for Linux as i'm aware? But given they are competitors I wouldn't hold my breath. A click on any game opens the details view in the client. As we stated before we'll eventually bring it to Linux, but currently it's not a priority for us, and we don't have any estimated date to share at this moment.
Just because you don't care about client, comfort and all that support around is strange exception. It does not mean they are not working on it, but it does look engaging either. I already don't buy from them since some time already, because of Galaxy not on Linux exactly. But given they are competitors I wouldn't hold my breath. My guess is they overrode existing libraries you already use as part of steam.
Anyone get this setup to work? Just because they decide they want to milk Linux users as well does not make them Linux-friendly. I can launch the game normally without issue but via Steam, it crashes after a minute. Hope this helps someone; I know we tend to find answers on our own and forget to report back to others. At the time of this review, they had over 2,200 games. I have not used these features up until now due to a lack of friends using the client and lack of games support.
I've had a great experience so far with the Steam Controller and I plan to make it my main controller as much as conveniently possible. You can try to follow the idea from to have all the files patched. Will just a temple of those dlls be helpful for you? The rollback feature makes game updates less of a problem as you can always go back to a previous version if they break something. Wait until the configuration saves and you should be good to go. It did this every time I tried it. This is not really any effort for them, I don't believe them.
I'm guessing those two conflict. I hate when game developers do that garbage. Same thing with changing payment methods at shop window. I've done this many times before and its never been a problem, I also believe Witcher was still working for a while after I did that so it may not be the issue. That said, I had the same problem with not being able to launch the game from steam anymore.
This part worked earlier in the week. I was starting it as a non-steam game with no trouble for about 2 weeks, but when I tried yesterday it opened very briefly like a second and then crashed immediately. Something must have changed in the November 13th patch that messed with how the overlay is handled. If you've got it running in the background, close it out, exit gog galaxy, and reopen. I'm wondering it was a windows 8. I hate when game developers do that garbage. Sad news, it seems won't actually be released for Linux any time soon.
Anyone has any other ideas I could try? When I press Shift + Tab nothing happens. But how do you update them? Both methods doing the same thing, shows its running in steam but no overlay. I can't get anything to work. Upon launch it'll re-download and unpack steam with the latest version. Sorry I can't help, but I can at least tell you that I'm having the same issue and it was working, so I assume it's fixable.
You may want to check the settings on first start to make sure all are set to your liking. I would think eventually when gog releases it: Gog overlay won't work with the way we're removing the libraries. You can join our group. You might have to reload a game profile for the controller. Windows 7 Ultimate event viewer shows the 'GalaxyCommunication' service starts then stops immediately so it seems that Steam doesn't seem to want to play nice with this service Okay, I got it working.
So, this is only going to enforce my feelings in a bad way. You can browse your existing library with a click on the library menu item in the interface, and filter games by platform as well if you want to. This is happening on 2 pc's that I own, both used to work fine until yesterday and both giving same the exact same issue. I'm under the impression that the Steam Overlay is not working since whenever I press the Steam button the game is minimized in some way and I cannot press the Steam button on the controller to enter back into the game. I think this is probably unrelated but worth mentioning. I also have this same issue on the Steam Link, but I've taken that out of the equation as it doesn't seem to be the issue. Maybe with that info I can figure out why it broke in the first place.
