Has anyone experienced this before. I called my Ford dealer and was told that even tough my car was having the same issue my particular car was not part of the recall and I would have to pay to have the car fixed. Called corporate they were no help at all. All of the above guesses are good and worth considering. Then in June the light came on again and the coolant was low. I take my car for for oil changes and service regularly.
The approximate failure mileage was 36,000. Smoke quickly filled the inside of the vehicle. The engine light went off. The vehicle was taken to Ford motor credit company located at 9009 carothers pkwy, franklin, tn 37067, 800 727-7000 and was informed that the cylinder head was fractured and the engine needed to be replaced. I was in motion when this does this. There was no indication of a problem until this happened.
I am concerned about the possibility of an overheated engine causing the cylinder to crack and spew oil resulting in a possible engine fire. I do not understand how a vehicle that is well-kept and has under 90,000 miles can suddenly, without warning or reason, have this kind of issue? I would love to have someone from the Ford assist me with this because it doesnt make sense for me to deal with this if this has been a discovered issue. Dealer found that the coolant bypass solenoid was leaking as well as the engine coolant temperature sensor was faulty. It gets 4 stars for perfect execution but does not appear to improve performance so minus 1 star. A sensor on the emissions system had gone bad. It started with a coolant leak that came out of no where which stalled my car because a warning came up stating it was too hot. Heritage Ford vt replaced coolant sensor improperly. Motor will rev up almost redlining before slamming into a random gear with again no power so I'm not gaining any speed.

The Internet said it was a broken heater core, but they checked everything and said it wasn't doing it now, it could have been an air bubble that resolved itself. It does completely and the vehicle has to be restarted. . The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. We apologize for any inconvenience and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. Now, with only 1 month left on original warranty but at 61,500 miles so over by a smidge , Ford will not repair car. They used a diagnostic code that said the same thing but one of the mechanics related he had just fixed a Ford Escape having the same issue and that they had then figured out there was a recall for the problem.
