Mostly Hip Hop is Good tracks. I ended up looking up the rest of his stuff and listening to it literally every chance I could. I want to hear your stories. I first heard the songs 4 years ago but about 2. I didn't play console games when I was younger, hence why I only found out about edubble 4-5 years ago I know that his music was big in the trickshotting community. I first heard his music in a video of a video game. Which led me to the very painful truth.
I cannot pick a favorite, I love all his stuff from St. Before that, I had assumed that all rap was just a shallow, trendy, commercial representation of the worst parts of society. You're always going to be a legend in my heart. I've heard a handful of them throughout the past months and I although I thought most of them were pretty good, didn't they they were quite worth posting, but today I heard my favorite e-dubble freestyle yet, 'Palm Trees'. That song was of course, Big Ships, and it was the first song of Evan's I heard. Rest in peace, Evan Sewell Wallace. Its gonna be 10 years this April and my friend wasnt even an e-dubble fan yet he just ran into the song and had it saved cause he liked it, but he didn't get into him until 2013.
Since this was so sick I knew I had to dig through the past weeks and find the best, well here's two others that I found to be just as sick, 'Night Table' and 'The In Between'going in over Cold War Kids and Two Door Cinema. I owe him my life in some way. I owe him more than I can ever give to him, or could've given him, now. Now he's got a very unique flow, that is sick, but my hesitation is the rediculous outros at the end of the tracks. I mean I understand they are freestyles for free, but these would actually go on peoples' playlists if they didn't have rediculous minute commentaries at the end. And damn I just got super nostalgic and sad.
Sadly, I won't be able to watch your show tonight due to timezone differences, but I can't wait to watch it on Youtube, at least. I came to his page because he was on the related lists to some random guy I was looking at on Spotify and I am so glad I clicked on his name. I cried a lot when he died. Although my first introduction to rap was old stuff like Eminem, beasty boys, ll cool j, E-dub made me really enjoy hiphop. My favourites would have to be Be A King; Let Me Oh; Down, Cycle Of Nightmares; Automatic; and Wait.
That was when I did some digging and started to listen to his music almost everyday. I hope I can be happy for the rest of the week. Either way, Evan provided a different message through the same method. I awaited his two tone rebel album and loved it but little did I know the following February he would no longer be with us. People usually prefer relatable stories, so the average man was left behind when it came to rap, since the great majority of rappers either talked about the struggles of living in a ghetto, surrounded by gangbangers; or showing off their wealth. In those years I was pretty depressed, went to therapy etc etc, but what really kept me going was e-dubbles music. Without it, I don't know where I would be today.
I remember back in 2008 I went over to my friend Hunters house and we played halo and he would play music while we played halo. At first i completely ignored it thinking it was some obscure joke, then just slowly i started asking myself what if it were true? While we played halo the song Who Invented The Mic From Straight outta saint mary's came on and I loved it and asked him for the name of the song and I been hooked ever since. I was watching StraightUpKnives montages on YouTube and saw someone mention this rapper dude made a song that referenced StraightUpKnives. Lite first song I played was changed my mind and after listening to it once it hit me like a truck, I then started exploring into his music and loved pretty much everything I heard from him. I still don't like music all that much. Evans music wasnt good bc of his beats, or his singing voice, but because of his lyrics. Be Okay, Get On Board, Greenlights, What It Do, Night Table, Board Games. What are your favourite e-dubble songs? But I plan on getting a tattoo with some of his lyrics, then at some later point, visiting the Poconos for a weekend where his ashes were spread. I didn't have a phone back then, I was too young, so I used my school-supplied laptop in school whenever I could. I almost entirely stopped listening to dubstep and it ended up only being e-dubble. I remembered from a year ago, and thought today would be the most apropriate day for it, since it's now been one year since Evan Sewell Wallace left us. I slowly discovered all of his songs, and before you know it, I have every single one of his songs saved.
It just hurts to think about him gone. Listening to someone like Tupac or Kendrick Lamar can be a trip to a world you've never experienced, or a relatable story, depending on your background. I miss him so much he's done so much for me I wish I can go back in time and live that part of my life again its ao worth it. After a bit, I ended up finding new, talented artists and loving them. Night Table is more based on depression, and it speaks to me so much. I really owe a lot to the big guy, and for years now I've dreamed of meeting him.
How did you discover Evan's music?. The motivation i took from this song was incredible. Edubs was and legend that impacted my life and others as well, P. I can't believe it's been a year already. In no particular order, my top songs have to be Plot Twist, Down, What It Do, Party With Wookies, Rebuild, Never Heard, Loosen Up, and New Trouble.
