Thanks for contributing an answer to Arqade! And I don't see how it could be considered a hack or cheating, it's just a video card driver. Monsters don't actually do shit unless you come near them. For those interested, who are more advanced than me, this code might give some clues and hopefully allow for making the game run in higher resolutions. I have combined that with DxWrapper's no-cd patch. To answer your question, D3 will most liekly support anything between 800x600 and 2400x1800 lol Wow, that is good to know, thank you. Looks amazing on Windows 8, can't wait to play it! Higher resolution means you'd see monsters standing still doing nothing at the edges of your screen all the time.
This is what we want, do not update it. I wonder if there is something similar for Diablo. Game is pretty challenging, and I have to kite alot, dodge arrows etc, but I like that it isn't easy. Monsters don't actually do shit unless you come near them. People aren't supposed to see further than that.
I doubt you'll be able to manage to hack the resolution of this game. The d2multires patch also results in a game crash. Thus, my really strange response about changing the size of character models. I'm not talking about enlarging the sprites, i'm more talking about like in d2 when you change to 800x600, the camera seems to zoom out a little bit further. ZiggityZag posted: They will never do this officially because the gameplay is affected by higher resolutions. Anyone know anything about this? To learn more, see our. If you play with some of the current resolution mods and push up to 1680 or so you can see how monsters just sit there until you get within a certain range.
Other than that, you can't do it. At least the single player portion. It can be done via. I had discovered Strange Bytes mod a while back and love it. Now for the installation of all these crazy things.
Since Diablo 2 is a sprite based game there is no way to increase the resolution, however, you can increase the drawing size of the screen ie. It also brings to the table every runeword from Battle. I also went through the steps here , but although I did indeed get a very large viewport, the game crashed after just a couple of minutes of play. I do not think you can change the size, I think it's limited to the one size due to the limitations of the graphic engine or whatever it was that was used to make the game, at the time. I'm sure the answer is still no; you can't do it.
What I've found since is that fullscreen is no longer available. I might be able to create a ddraw wrapper that could do this. We do not support the use of these. Light radius did actually determine aggro in D1. I will look into this when I get a chance.
But if it is possible, i'd like to try jacking it up to my current resolution of 1280x1024 just to see how tiny everything looks, lol. Or StarCraft, for that matter. My Favorites include: A ton of new enemies, weapons, skills and spells. D2multires mod proved you could increase the resolution, but Blizzard needs to implement the changes for it to work gameplay wise as well. It puts bars on the sides so that it's not all stretched out too. If you couldn't see a monster, it couldn't see you. Provide details and share your research! I might be able to fix this but probably won't have time to look into it for a while. As for color issues, DirectDraw always worked for me. Also a good site for knowing about different games screen resolutions is. The process is about the same as installing D2. I just want to get back to the familiar gameplay I had up until a couple of weeks ago. Also made a warrior, then my save got removed.
I have widescreen monitors on both machines. I don't play on Battle. Usually if its possible they will show you how, and if its not they may have other advice. I am aware of a couple mods to do this I won't link them here , but it is against the ToS and will get you banned on Battle Net. To enlarge the playfield, many more code changes are needed, and graphics need to be adjusted too. Thought about seeing if it was possible for you to do it and come here to find out you've already done just that.
