Some things need to start happening to lend credence to the integrity of the series as a whole. This book was so much better than I thought it would be and I had high hopes. I can feel the spark when they banter or team up to beat the monsters Can I call them that? Although we are still a long way from love, as he starts to think clearer he starts to work through his feelings of betrayal. I grieved his death, but gods I blamed him. The landing in the belly of a beast was done in Star Wars, to name the most obvious reference.
In Dark Skye you find yourself back on the island where the creatures of the Lore have been held prisoner and tortured by the Order, including Lanthe and Thronos. He's the antithesis of a Soceri, the hedonist, magic wielding, gold-worshiping race. Why not Pandemonium, I wondered. Will she throw fits when she learns about the inter-species marriages, as the Valkyrie worry? This book is everything I love about the Immortals After Dark series! My favorite part of this story was that Thronos gets pissed off every time Lanthe calls him a demon. Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, is a remarkable hero in my opinion. A great addition to the series, filled with action and twists and finally some revelations about the greater scheme of things. Now she glanced all around for the source.
The big bad Accession must become manifest. While he tried unsuccessfully to capture her, he had to watch his fated female take male after male to her bed while Lanthe tried desperately to find true love. Interesting how this world of Immortals closely resembles different cultures in the real world today. The virgin hero, and the sexually experienced heroine made the nookie especially hot, and different than that found in all of the previous installments which is pretty freaking incredible when you think about it. There was no time for resolution to see what happened with his people.
Besides, who could care about them when those silver eyes were so compelling? I would not love a halfling any less. He was raised to believe that Vrekeners were not demons, but Lanthe keeps pointing out everything that Thronos does that is demon-like. There is a part of him that wants to torture her for the wrongs she has done him. At least the romance is good. Was he succumbing to this reasoning because it was sound? They formed a special bond and became best friends.
No fabulous dress and gifts of gold? Perhaps I rate after all? Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul. That all changed the night Thronos and his dad invaded Lanthe's home and beheaded Finally! Yes, this book was entertaining, fun, emotional, and romantic. He has been celibate the 500 years they have been apart, and he needs her every bit as much as he hates her. I care about nothing very much. He loves Lanthe and wants her for her, not just because instinct drives him to claim her as his mate. With this one I think that I'm definitely out of love with this series.
Endless Yearning Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. From what I understand, we are to have a rash of different halflings in future generations. She gave us all we asked for. Yet as she strolled the temple, his constant scowl eased. He's dedicated and has been in pain for many years because his best friend, Lanthe, betreyed him and after that, he wants to revenge her.
Now, thanks to the Order, who captured them both in Dreams of a Dark Warrior, he has his chance to capture her once and for all. I don't love it when it's the hero that's slutting it up, and it's not any different when the roles are switched. He thought his kind were do-gooders, with morals, honor, etc, and that Lanthe's way of life, which was full of sins and wickedness, was wrong. Romeo and Juliet have nothing on the tale of Lanthe and Thronos. Contents include a few explicit sex scenes and lots of bloody gore. Must read for fans of Cole and this series.
I could not stop laughing. You 've been waiting a whole year for the new book of your most favourite series to come out. She and Thronos not only have to work together, but they have to do it with her unpredictable powers. There are times you crack open a book and you just know you will fall in love. She whirled around to find him charging toward her, that determined look in his grave face. A second chance at love that transcends time. There was no more denying it—or her attraction to him.
It was great seeing them each finding out some truths and starting to trust one another. He never had any trouble informing her of that. Nïx calls it an apocalypse, but no positive key character has died and stayed dead. Its large dark petals were shiny and open. Like he is everything I love in a hero 1.
