I thought the fighting was fairly decent, much better than your typical Xena-esque Hollywood kung-fu with swords stuff, more swashbuckling and perhaps with a hint of historical European technique. The story is indeed moving even if you see what's coming a mile away. It was filmed entirely in. No it is not a gigantic budget blockbuster of academy award winning status but it is a lot of fun if you are a fan of this genre. The fact is that the operas are based on the same source material, an ancient about 800 year old Germanic saga, similar to the British Beowulf legend and other myths. The advertising claims this was the inspiration for Tolkien, but this story inspired many more than just him. The actors particularly sigfried had a wierdly European enough look to me that they didn't come across as overly pretty models or call girls right out of Hollywood central casting. He overpowers Brunhilde who is surprised to see that Gunther once again found his strength, she then offers herself to Siegfried as Gunther, who is briefly conflicted perhaps remembering of his old feelings towards Brunhild, but nonetheless retrieves himself from the room to get rid of the belt he has taken from her. In places, the acting leaves something to be desired. Having overheard Kriemhild and Erik at the party, Hagen's father makes a potion that Kriemhild gives Erik that causes him to fall in love with her and forget Brunhild.

Gunther then decides to send Siegfried back to Xanten and out of Burgundy, but is then stopped by Brunhilde who establishes that the punishment is far too light, and describing herself as disgraced and fooled, she asks for Siegfried's death to Gunther who firstly refuses given his relationship with Siegfried but reluctantly accepts because Brunhild threatens to kill herself if the punishment is not carried out. Gunther requests Siegfried use the tarn-helm again to get the belt away from Brunhild which he does.
It's a tragic love story filled with some gory scenes that are definitely not for children, but overall I still liked it : I initially wanted to see it because Rob Pattinson is in it, but I was a little disapointed with his roll. Kriemhild confronts Brunhild again and returns her belt, Brunhild reveals her troubled state of mind is because of Siegfried forgetting about their love. It was shown on the on March 27, 2006, retitled Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King for the audience, and minus about one hour of material. It's not a long fight sequence and it doesn't distract from the film's overall feel. She takes her anger out by first challenging Siegfried to combat which he purposely loses to take away any thoughts that it was him who defeated Brunhild, then Brunhild ties Gunther up and leaves him for the night greatly convinced she had been deceived. Dark Kingdom is a re-telling of the centuries-old Nordic legend that inspired both Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen about a sword-smith named Siegfried who comes across a treasure after slaying a dragon. I still quite enjoy the movie, though.
The castle is soon overrun and all are slain except for Siegfried, whose mother has sent him down the river. Swords 5:08 deals with the action. Few big actors have the training to pull off good roles as they focus more on toning muscles and physical prowess rather than delivering their lines convincingly enough. The lead played by an American must have attended the Stallone or Swartzenagger school. Though clearly not made with half the budget of a similarly themed Hollywood flick, Dark Kingdom exhibits a fairly impressive production value, and director Uli Edel takes ample advantage of South Africa's eclectic locations and landscapes. She takes her anger out by first challenging Siegfried to combat which he purposely loses to take away any thoughts that it was him who defeated Brunhild, then Brunhild ties Gunther up after revealing the power she possess comes from her pageant belt. Eyvind leaves Erik to use the rock from the meteor to make a sword.
Richard Wagner's music dramas Siegfried and GötterdÀmmerung are based on the same material. The men leave for the hunt, where Gunther and Hagen plot to cause Siegfried's death, but for a long time they are unable to. Giselher then tries to kill Hagen but is easily overpowered. Afterwards Eyvind presents his to Gunther, who reveals that the has awakened and is responsible for the burnt village. His merriment is quickly tarnished, however, when the Nibelungs appear, wanting their gold back. It was written by the husband and wife team of and , was directed by , and is a Tandem Communications production. Seeing that Fafnir's blood has healed his scratch, Eric bathes in the blood, rendering his skin invulnerable save for a single spot where an errant leaf had fallen upon his upper back, leaving that one spot untouched by the blood.
All in all I'd say a fun flick, good mood setting for any fantasy fan. So I can't recommend it to others. A raven who would deliver this news to Brunhild is then shot down by Hagen. Wagner did a better job with his opera but some of us owuld like to hear this norther european legend without sitting through hours of opera, so here it is with rather enjoyable special effects. Under the watchful eye of his spell-casting mother, Hjordis, Siegfried rigorously trains for his big day of revenge, becoming a powerful warrior. Giselher wishes the Pagan gods would live again on his death but Lena tells him that the Pagan gods die with him. Meanwhile, the entire dragon's hoard is moved to the Burgund treasury and fills it near to overflowing.
