Being neither Maddie nor Mac are involved with Kendall's video - I see no reason for either of them to have gone with Kendall. She's being paid to act her lines. If you spent hours binge-watching Dance Moms wishing you were pushed harder as a kid, naturally talented and a member of the Abby-Lee Dance Company - then you're not alone. While others still remain on the show. She looked great in that selfie thing or whatever it was. The group dance has fantastic costumes. The negative vibe around the studio is not helping the moms being very welcoming.
Abby says Kendall must be the utmost professional at her video. The next day, Melissa Maddie and Mackenzie's mom confirms that the meeting with Todrick was an unexpected invitation from Abby, but Holly still thinks Jill contributed to excluding a child. After none of the numbers win first overall, Abby pulls Sarah from the team. But is Kendall going to become a brat as well? For the group, they are doing a contemporary dark number called Rose Garden. Kalani and Kira return to the team to replace Chloe and Christi.
Sparks fly between Jill and Holly when Nia is left out of a show biz opportunity which puts a strain on the team as they try to master an edgy rose garden themed contemporary routine. Holly rants about Nia crying herself to sleep then calls Jill a coward. The second place group must have been on par with these two groups also. Their group dance is similar to a previous dance, performed at The Dance Awards and Showstoppers. I can't even comment on the other nonsense since it's all set up anyway.
Archived from on September 20, 2014. Jill is excited for Kendall's video shoot and says her daughter feels confident; Holly says Nia is feeling the opposite because Abby isn't promoting or acting excited for her video. Nia is shooting a music video, so Abby pulls her out of the group dance. They end up losing for the third time in a row. Look at dance faculty on the university level, read their bios, almost all of them were performers, it's what makes their résumé along with where and under whom they trained.
The pyramid has Nia in last for only getting 3rd place. Tired of this shows fake ass competitions. Similarly, Abby assigns both Maddie and Chloe musical theater numbers, not only as tributes, but as celebrations of life for her ailing mother. Abby says it was an artistic and a business success. All three girls give wonderful performances, but I like Kalani's choreo best. And she is mad about her technical ability being called out last week. I have nothing against Maddie, but come up with a freaking new storyline already.
They come out for their number. Depends on which coast the judges are from. Kalani and so the whole point of the episode was to tell the viewers once again that Maddie is the best and can beat anyone and everyone, even when they are older than her. The girls rehearse a jazz number reflecting the mothers' behavior during nationals, to which Chloe and Payton are featured. She finishes to cheers and wild applause.
Meanwhile, Maddie is assigned a solo to go head-to-head against Ava, whose mother, Jeanette, feels that Abby isn't giving her daughter strong choreography. She also gets lots of applause. She could not kick any higher. She wants them there and actually pursued them. Abby tells Chloe she has an advantage as a contemporary dancer typically earns first place, but the mothers bicker about Maddie and Mackenzie getting more attention from Abby. Meanwhile, the mothers struggle to bond, especially with new mom, Christy, who feels she earned her spot being a paying customer of Abby's.
Whatever, it's a teen girl. JoJo and Mackenzie's music stops while they are onstage. In the Overall Highest Scoring Solo Category, Keara gets 6th Place; Kalani is awarded 2nd Place; Maddie wins 1st Place. Adage Dance Studios also performed in the halftime show. The soloist from the other studio was lovely, but just not as polished as Maddie and Kalani. Our studio actually used to win overalls with ballet, imagine that! Did you watch the episode? For competition, Abby pulls Mackenzie from the group routine and has the girls compete in a higher age division to avoid a loss. Holly tells Jessa this is about Abby and her twisted mind using Todrick to get to her.
Jill slams out and Kira goes to check on her. Erin says you can post fun stuff when your girls have good self-esteem. Jill says Abby never sets Maddie up to fail — only sets her up to look better. I wonder how the Real Holly feels about being the designated downtrodden screecher now that Christi and Chloe are gone. Nia and Kalani are each performing a solo against each other. It's hard to have a family and be a professional performer, especially for a woman. Nia does seem to get ignored.
At competition, the Select Ensemble prove themselves, again, and Christi is prideful of Chloe's flexibility. I have a feeling the new team will always revolve around her, Maddie, and Mackenzie---when this singing stuff fails for Kendall, she'll disappear too. Maddie will be out one day of rehearsal to perform on Ellen. Maddie's dance was super boring, but it showed what a beautiful dancer she is at 12 years old. Shockingly, Mackenzie and Maddie join her at the bottom.
