The comments you made in the post above seem to indicate you are now experiencing a moment of clarity, perhaps? Kudos to Powerstroker for posting that photo to illustrate that to you. So my 04 f350 was running fine good power and everything till I shut it off a couple days ago and now when it is cold it fires right up but when the truck warms up it just cranks and cranks. So yet another crank no start. Look at that rediculous looking engine stand also. I don't know of its just a coincidence or not but while trying to get he truck to start my batteries got drained so got them charged and one was bad it's less then a year old.
I just wish they would have done it at the factory so we wouldn't have to. I tried disconnecting sensor, still no start. I have not had one issue with the truck since I have had it. Before I got it it had headgaskets done, egr valve replaced, and new injectors installed. Put a gauge on it and all readings are good. Would idle a bit rough sounded like no turbo spool at all when given throttle.
If there is one then this is the highest point of the coolant in your vehicle and you will bleed it by opening this hole and running your engine until only coolant flows from the exposed hole. As for the deck surface, well it dont appear to have been milled on your engine. Is this a problem we need to have fixed. I'll let Powerstroker answer that one for you. The first day it started but the second day i went down it wouldn't start. I did what I could to learn about glow plug timers and such.
Anyway, that engine was baked and blasted, however ours was just hot tanked. I'm excited to be a Powerstroke owner again! Owners manual says this is a problem check Starting and Operation of Diesel Engine Section for problem. Grab yourself a chilton or haynes manual. But now when I got it all put back together and went to start it up now have no crank at all, the wrench light is coming on, when I hook up my scangauge it will not connect so I can't get any readings or codes I have checked all the fuses that have to do the the ignition system. At this point I would rather go clean the lower block and bask in the sweet aroma of GumOut.
I do suspect there could be an issue with the egr cooler as it needs coolant occasionally. I will edit the post above to state the true amount of connections and give you the credit for calling me on the mistake. Some day I would like to take the kids over there to see the Canada side of the falls. How long will it take for this picture to disappear. I went to start truck up and noticed it took awhile longer than normal to start up and when it did finally kick over, truck and no power at all.
I do puff black smoke but that's because of the sct tuner on performance tune. Im just wondering how Big Angry Hillbilly can take a dump on his front porch in around -50 degree weather. I know on the 7. A mechanic will need to be able to tell the difference, I guess, but I prolly don't know any more than that Hillbilly guy. I just wanted to share that you can do it if you're new to this-just remember the order you took everything else out in, and pray to the diesel gods that you don't break any parts you don't have a replacement for. The other night it was cold so I plugged it in, then yesterday morning it got warm overnight like into the lower 40s. Then again we have a whole case down the street at the local Meijer available 24 Hours a day 7 days a week Except Christmas.
Jul 13, 2015 i have a 2007 f350 6. Check the area and connector well. It also had a shudder at cruising speed when going up a slight incline, would shudder until turbo kicked in. Perhaps I think it is unfair. I don't know of its just a coincidence or not but while trying to get he truck to start my batteries got drained so got them charged and one was bad it's less then a year old. Also right now the injector cycling is 10 seconds long while on my other 6. I bought my truck 2 month ago.
Could an injector leak cause these symptoms and engine still run ok? Must shrivel up the testies. Few weeks later she hesitates a little bit while she's cold in the morning. The truck is running fine, no problems I believe, starts easy. Is this a coincidence that this came on after they got done, or could something they did while tinting the windows tripped this? Some white smoke that clears quickly and ran rough for a few, pulled it in gear surged forward and died. I have 2013 f350 crew lariat 4x4 6. The Sensor is a three wire. After being cleaned only a few thousand miles could it be stuck again? When I unplugged the connector the trucks idol smoothed out and everything ran great! Want to know what your truck cost per mile, or planning a trip and want to know how much it will cost? Do not remove the screw just turn it until the hole in the side is revealed.
I'm assuming that cylinder 1 injector is bad -- are there any tests to confirm before I take it apart to replace it? I can get it to crank if I jump the starter wire to the battery. I bleed like a siv all the way back to the hotel. If so I used to go there all the time when I was 19 to get into bars and drink. How does a mechanic diagnose the P2285 code? Turn key off and pressure instantly drops to 25psi, then bleeds off to zero over about a 3 minute time period. My ipr is at 14.
I can see why he is angry, but at -50 degrees, I am sure its anything but big. When refilling, remove dipstick to provide adequate venting and allow oil to flow into crankcase. I never seen it coming. I bet you feel so good about yourself right now. Move your way along to the thermostat and look for a screw and nut at the top of the housing. Hell they could have done many things, but the fact they have only the main caps sealing this plate is just plain ignorant! Pretty tough back in those days. I cleaned inside filter housing thoroughly.
