I had my vehicle towed to a dealership after I researched my problem. In addition, while making a left at approximately 15 mph, the steering wheel seized without warning. In my case the power steering pump would quit at times and it had no power steering felt like manual steering. I have done research and others have the same issue! I would like to know how many people have had this problem and had to pay to have the gear fixed. Car has only 96,000 never been in accidents.
We recommend wearing safety glasses and gloves when dealing with any engine fluids, including power steering fluid. While driving approximately 65 mph, there was a sudden loss of engine power and the vehicle was unable to be driven over 40 mph. Dealer stated that the gear was not working right. The steering rack and pump should not have to be replaced at the buyers cost due to manufacturing defects. Both times they acted like I was being petty and they said they bled the system.
