It's just better than would be expected for a movie of this genre. A must see, must own movie. Nice in many ways, but mostly excellent for its genre. When he has a strange encounter with God Oscar winner Morgan Freeman, reprising his role from the first film , God tells him to build an ark, just as Noah did thousands of years ago. I was rooted to my seat till the final credits rolled. I would recommend this to a friend There's no reason not to believe that this movie isn't funny, but the shocking thing about this flick is the fact that Morgan Freeman plays God.
I would recommend this to a friend I saw this in the theater when it first came out, and decided it was worth owning a copy. I would recommend this to a friend I was severely disappointed in the quality of this particular blu-ray disc. Skin tones appear healthy and natural, but they don't show any real fine texture in the complexions, even in close-ups. The only thing keeping this film from a five star rating is the sequence with the jet fighter which was a little too unbelievable for me. Bringing his unique blend of contortionist humor, Jim Carrey satisfies his ego by playing God in 'Bruce Almighty'. Minority Report type of screens. Truth be told, I've never been much a Jim Carrey fan.
By obeying God, Evan risks his family, career, and sanity--but will a flood actually come and prove him right? Item is in original shrink wrap if applicable. There is a welcome human element to this adventure that is missing from so many other action movies now where you are always aware that what we are watching is an actor in front of a green screen. Carrey stars as Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, New York who lives a normal life with his sweet girlfriend Grace Jennifer Aniston. Written by I really do not know what people have against this film, but it's definitely one of my favourites. God explains to him how things work which is really important as he makes sense of being able to do a Clint Eastwood impersonation, parting tomato soup in a diner, and walking on water. Meanwhile, his constant excitement about his own life makes him more selfish, leaving his relationship on dangerous ground. This one though was so funny to me.
Forgot way much of the story and remembered a lot of the high-points and jokes. This doesn't stop Bruce, and he responds to his newfound powers with selfish, childlike zeal. Just have fun with it. When the final straws are executed, he's quick to not laugh, but yell in the face of God, who in turn gives Bruce his powers. There are numerous pop culture references in Bruce Almighty as well such as when the song Power by Snap plays in the movie as he is using his newfound powers, Never Gonna Give Ya Up by Barry White during a scene involving him and his girlfriend including Right About Now by Fatboy Slim.
Then of course lets not forget the enchanting Maggie Q, sigh. I'll watch again -- hoping to hold off doing so too soon, but once a year would not be too often. There is even an appearance by Tony Bennett in Bruce Almighty where Bruce Nolan takes his girlfriend Grace Connelly to an upscale restaurant called the Blue Palm. The Blu-ray disc arrives with a sub-par picture, an audio presentation that's better, and a mediocre package of supplements. What it boils down to is a series of outtakes for three different sequences of the film.
One of the reasons; Bruce Almighty stars Jim Carey as Bruce Nolan. I thought it was much better than most of the movies coming out in 20teens. The movie is based on a touchy subject. Now I have it on Blu-ray too. Overall, 'Bruce Almighty' puts together a nice show in the audio department.
His girlfriend Grace Jennifer Aniston loves him but is frustrated by his lack of seriousness about the future of their relationship and selfishness but tries to stand by him even when he gets fired for an angry on air outburst, but breaks up with him eventually. And a 50 year-old Detective John McClane. Certainly a recipe for disaster. Without him, the humour would turn flat, as humour is half execution. Olyphant as the spurned Former Fed turned Terrorist who nurses an operatic dream of revenge holds the panache of such memorable 'Die Hard' bad boys as Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons.
His girlfriend Grace Jennifer Aniston tries to comfort him, but Bruce eventually ends up taking his anger out on God. Well, what can a man do if you have the Almighty's powers? On this worst day of Bruce's life, he's fired from the station, beaten up by a gang of toughs, and his car is vandalized. His dreams of moving from light-interest news stories to the station anchorman are embarrassingly shattered when his rival Steve Carell is given the position instead. While I enjoyed Die Hard 2 and 3, they did not live up to the first film. His one moment of glory is not only a hilarious highlight of the film, but it's arguably the most memorable. Ultimately, Bruce proves he is only human, and cannot possibly fill God's shoes, although he has a great time trying.
