If the system will not hold pressure and there are no external leaks the head gasket may be faulty. Then install oil filter housing onto engine. I have an 09 335i N54 and there was no way to reach the bolt even with a universal swivel socket as the intake manifold when seated is almost directly on top of it. I could not find torque specs in the repair manual or online, so I just tightened them to what felt right. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Reconnect oil switch electrical connector.

Finally, the filter housing is carved out of solid 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat. I may have a leak coming from that gasket. It will have the procedure, special tools and torque specs. After I successfully repaired the threads with a Time-Sert, all went back together normally. This kit is for all N52 engines. If the system will not hold pressure and there are no external leaks the head gasket may be faulty. I think the intake manifold is going to have to be be moved to get this bolt out. On engines that use cartridge style filters, these components are often found inside the engine, commonly in the oil filter housing.
