I went back to the store and exchanged it for another still no sound. See if the game is muted or if there is any sound emitted. Dead Space is one hell of a game lol took me 13 hours on the xbox to complete. After that in the gameplay there is no sound at all. Unsure if your question has been answered already? If not, check the in-game options to see if the game is muted. As for the visuals, the original BioShock has an interesting history with Nvidia hardware and drivers. To each his own I guess.

Gaming For some reason, I cant seem to hear any sound during game play of Bioshock, but the weird thing is, during cut scene movies, there is sound. The fix from 2K is to enable stereo mix: If you have no sound and are using an onboard solution from Realtek then the following instructions may restore the sound: Enable Stereo mixing, to do this: open the control panel in classic view and choose Sound. But you'll also need to enable your onboard audio and install the drivers for it, which may be realtek hd audio. Hope that solves your troubles. I tried changing the configuration file to use a different sound output system. Could you upload Bioshock Infinite to your own site? There are lots of websites that contain malware. I got w7 x64 I tried every fix under the sun that people online suggested but nothing was working. And if your not against downloading games, you can find some fantastic deals from all of the major services.
That's a sign that the sound will not work after loading a game, not point wasting further time. Everything is peachy except Bioshock: it has no sound after the game starts. Well the game ran with this so I didn't make any further changes. The only thing I've seen so far that has disappointed me, is this one water effect that was the on the Xbox 360 version. For the life of me, I cannot remember the address so just take note that I did not come up with this solution all on my own.
