As in, when you play your guitar through your computer set up, do you hear the output with no delay as if you were playing through an amp? That ought to tell something. I have no idea if they have any sort of preventions keeping you from using it on multiple machines. A good HiFi headphone is recommended too, not typical mobile headphones. It is really a pretty solid interface for its price point and it is hardly inadequate for use with plugins. And absolutely you can play in real time.
