But when it booted, it ignored the flash drive and booted directly into Linux. I have created a bootable usb of ubuntu 14 and I know it works because it works on another laptop. Hey there, I'm trying to install Ubuntu 16. I disabled quick boot and secure boot in the bios menu newest Bios. One thing i observed is that as I connect my charger, the power light indicator on the laptop, near the power charger connector, is white and not amber? Press F10 to save and exit. On a laptop, open up the ram area and find the attached cmos battery. My screen goes black, as described, the drive keeps blinking for a while and then everything stops. All preparations go without the problem until system tryies to login. Then, the extra settings will be lost and the bios will be as it was out of the factory. Don't forget to go your motherboard company web site and find the technical support and download page for your motherboard. This forum has had more than its fair share of questions about problems with ssd partitions.
I'm not very confident it'll work. If not, try that too. The keyboard backlight flashes at the beginning for around 1s, then turns off. Anyway, thank you very much for your help. You have any idea why this happens? See if the ssd is enabled.
