With Spark 2 you have access to analog synthesis, sampling, and physical modeling, the generator supports a mix of three engines. The use of its own samples and sound banks will be much more interesting. Damn ca is the big default!!!! Repeatedly pushing these buttons steps through the available options. Tired of endlessly auditioning drum samples for your tracks? Spark 2 is a very modern and complete drum machine in software form. This unit is very much its own thing. Running it mostly under Logic 9. This is a very good product, development continues to progress, from V1, many things have improved summers, access to beta test is open to all and very interesting, because the dev can put your needs for the next version The carrier is arturia reagent.
I do a lot of electronic music right now using analog synths more or less old enough color so hot, and spark up to ca largely I think because the sound is powerful, just as aggressive pr sound heavier than a mild directory hottest hip hop, pop show. The list extends to include copying patterns, activating the metronome and toggling between quantised and unquantised recording. Highly recommended unit especially if you do vintage stuff. Spark 2 includes a family of electronic drums, ranging from real sounding drums spanning to more processed percussions. A self-contained beatmaker, Spark 2 will become your perfect partner in crime when it comes to drums, percussion, and rhythmic sequencing. With version 2, though, it has much, much more going for it than just that.
It looks much better, and where there were previously three pages Project, Kit and Instrument , there are now eight. You can get very deep with the Spark. The Divide and Move encoders set the width and the start point of the 'mini loop', all while the pattern continues to play. As with traditional hardware drum machines, it comes with a wide variety of different sounds that are suitable for many different styles of music. A couple even needed coaxing back up manually after being pressed. What are the sounds you prefer, you hate? To import a user sample, first select a layer, then navigate to your source library and make a choice.
The screen is not terrible terrible, however the interface is impeccable! Amongst the other options, Strobe works rather like looped gating, with various divisions of the loop's width spread across the pad. These are used for pattern selection, sequencer programming, transport controls, and so on. The parameters aren't yet documented in the manual, but that's no reason not to experiment with them! Feel the Spark, get creative Not just a drum machine, not simply a sequencer, so much more than just a plug-in, Spark 2 is a true drum instrument. The capability is well on par with the price point. Spark 2 offers you everything all under one roof, from contemporary drum sounds to sampled and physically modelled acoustic kits, classic drum machine reborn through advanced modelling, loop splicing and triggering, Spark 2 is ready to create the drums you always wanted.
Patterns are highly configurable in terms of the number of steps, resolution, and even time signature. The software has three functional areas: a centre section resembling the hardware, a bottom part for editing kits, drums and effects, and at the top an area for the creation of patterns and songs. As you would expect, many of these take advantage of the new Modular system, but nonetheless, Spark still suffers from the same problem as previous versions in this department: the kits are better than the patterns, particularly when it comes to the genre-specific stuff. It enables you to string patterns together in chains, 16 of which can be triggered from the drum pads, facilitating complicated and genuinely spontaneous live arrangement. All in all, Spark 2 is a well designed, easy to use, solidly reliable and great sounding drum production software program that should be on your short list of plugins to check out if you need outstanding rhythm parts. You can then manually adjust each one with the mouse. On top of that, you get a surprisingly substantial sound library that includes a variety of kits.
Rating: Four out of five stars is a majestic beat-making drum machine monster. Arturia released today a update that includes many bug fixes that improves the entire workflow. Similarly, to replace an entire kit, press and hold the encoder until it shifts to kit selection, then pick a new one. Arturia know a thing or two about bundling software and hardware together — remember the Analog Experience and Origin synths? C is the Ball C is the ball but I repeat myself! I would describe it as slightly futuristic. The software and sound library showed promise, but the hardware failed to impress. Eventually, I discovered that my content had become fragmented, a situation I rescued by gathering all the folders together, then reassuring Spark of their location.
Each drum has its own channel, plus two insert effects with nine possible effect choices. You can also set these chains to run sequentially from one to the next, for quick song construction. Upon opening Spark 2 it became apparent just how intense the software is. Tape neatly simulates a tape slowdown effect. Even different models of the same type of drum call upon parameters that are unique — and again undocumented.
Arturia supply an example control template for Ableton Live , but otherwise it's up to you to program as you see fit. It draws on a combination of sample playback and synthesis to present over 30 classic drum machine emulations and a large number of genre-specific and original kits. One of the great things about the Spark 2 is the library that comes with it, which is pretty extensive. This large and imposing chunk of aluminium approximately 36 x 27cm has buttons and drum pads that glow brighter than Hollywood dental work! Three encoders per drum ensure instant access to favourite parameters, while six other encoders adjust the filter, effects sends and mix of the currently selected pad. These patterns can be chained together to form Songs. Arturia found a fine-looking, modern, and well-organized interface.
The Song page is a huge step forward. But if I picked the 'Lynn Dream Snare' instead, I'd be given control over an alternate set. Spark a very good compromise at an affordable price. With six parameters per drum and three physical encoders, I couldn't help looking for a shift key, or equivalent. How long have you use it? It runs like a mixing board almost. There are other important hardware shortcuts too: for example, if the current kick fails to inspire, simply turn the central encoder and select another.
The stock content is actually very good. Below is the list of the permanent and intermittent issues that have been resolved in the Spark 2. And really - who doesn't need that? The app is very clear no need for manual in case of trouble I shall be only too you advise regader the tutorial 8 of Franco la muerte that will brighten all your lanterns. In this light, the Spark hardware looks quite impressive! After the software initialises, the Controller is recognised and becomes your primary interface. Next is Sequencer, which has also been enhanced, both visually and functionally, making programming automation of pad and effects parameters much easier than before.
