There are only two cops investigating this serial killer who has done this sort of thing before. Here, the same is true for the most part, one scene with a male and female detective was enough for me to know that all subsequent scenes would be equally trite and boring, so I skipped all of the scenes containing them. I was rooting for the killer. And that's a gross understatement. The Real Question should be. The acting is in the most part woeful.

The actors portray stupid thoughts and actions, in particular the first person to be offed, who does not realize that his life is in grave danger, despite having a surgical scar on his body that wasn't there before, and no one considers that they were kidnapped and drugged, brought here against their will. Some twists at the end made it a little more interesting. However, during some scenes, these people are likable enough, they aren't scumbags who are being taught a lesson by an insane toymaker, like in the Saw movies. Finney was nominated for 5 Oscars and never attended the ceremonies. The only good thing about the movie is. If you've seen Saw, then you are aware of the basic principles of the movie.

It is a teenage-oriented horror movie that's a shameless rip-off of James Wan's great Saw 2004 , so ineptly done that it should have resulted in a lawsuit. And how was that guy alive and standing up?? Watching this film really makes you enjoy Saw and Cube sooo much more because how anyone can really enjoy this film is beyond me. It is a formula that has been used long before the decline and return of the R-rated horror. Most annoying people I have ever seen in front of a camera I will not call these people actors, they couldn't act their way out of a paper bag. The twins step up to take the challenge. This is what is known as 'camp' - Defined by one-time Simpsons character John as being 'the ludicrously tragic' or 'the tragically ludicrous'.
Are You Scared is a cheap imitation of Saw. They deserve better than have their name on this piece of trash. They constantly separate when they're all terrified. No, this dump's been abandoned for years. This game is designed to make them choose which one shall live and which one shall die. It's cheaper to have one semi-rogue cop and a criminal profiler than to have the sort of coordinated effort that would involve scores of officers and detectives. Three boys a noisy and stupid black guy that obvious dies first and three cute girls with nice legs were kidnapped by a crazy guy who has a burned face.
And, in fairness, it is true that many have not seen and will not see the originals, a fact that I presume explains the scene-for-scene remake of the original. It'll be better for your braincells. Varda was born in Brussels, Belgium, and became a key figure in the French New Wave. Now if you love your b-horrors than watch this film. The only difference in this movie is that the victims think they're in a game show.

First she walks across a room with broken glass scattered everywhere and pushes the first button. Le Bonheur 1965 , The Creatures 1966 , Documenteur 1981 , Vagabond 1985 , The Gleaners and I: Two Years Later 2002, documentary , Faces Places 2017 , - for which she won the Best Documentary Oscar, becoming the oldest recipient to date. I consider myself a huge scary movie fan, but this is one I definately won't be watching again.
The acting isn't as bad as a b movie. But if the filmmakers thought it necessary to have a connection to one character, they apparently thought it thoroughly unnecessary to explain the others or the fact that this killer has done this sort of thing previously. Is this part of the game? Directing was marginal, and editing was good. Also Eli Roth's Hostel 2005; 07 movies are aped, but the Are You Scared? Having said that it's never made clear whether the Are You Scared show is the same one that these kids find themselves in or whether someone has just used the concept for his own evil ends if so how did he get hold of the audition tapes? Generally these copycat movies take a premise and at least alter it the asylum's under cutter films immediately come to mind: The Hillside Cannibals, The Paossesion of Gail Bowers, When a Stalker Comes, Snakes on a Train, etc This one however just blatantly rips off Saw 2. The show is basically Saw 2 in a semi-different locale, with interchangeable characters. There are two main cops, a man and a woman. I can't believe this was even produced, not to mention the rip off of saw, my god where does this idiot think he can make this. What, you lose your breadcrumbs? Votre cauchemar ne fait que commencer. This is just a cheap, boring, knock off of Saw. The girls look nice I suppose if nothing else.
Never make a horror movie again, for the sake of us all. I the feds for help. The 'victims' took acting 101, but beyond that the rest of the crew needs to go back to their day job. Skip this movie, folks, and spend you hard-earned money on the hundreds of better horror movies available on Amazon, like Paranormal Activity, Session 9, etc etc. I won't give away the ending, but I will say that it's thoroughly absurd. Take my advice, don't waste your time.
