This season has been very tightly scripted, and just flows beautifully; doing less and doing it better has worked out really well for them. Only this show can do it and make it so great to watch. That leads us to the end of the episode with Archer back a Dreamland telling Mother about his failure. Season 8 Production Production Company Country of Origin United States No. Archer is setting up the ransom exchange with Cecil. List of Episodes Screenshot Episode Title Original Air Date Production Code Season Ep. I wonder why they don't do them anymore? Archer once again has brought along someone for the ride this time a prostitute.
The writers took him to a new level. Before the car chase starts, Archer tells the prostitute who is Trinette to jump out of the car before the chase begins. Once he is finally released, he utters the words the cops took it, and Mother knows exactly what that means. I've always had the feeling that Ray wasn't originally supposed to be a main character, just a fun side player for the creator to cameo in now and then. Lana and Trinette are picked up by Cecil who wants to go after the ransom money bag. I just knew there was gonna be some mention of a potato around her but the potato compartment was pretty jokes and when she asked the taboo guy all his guesses were potato related hahaha I also thought it was nice how smart she was in archers mind! The stark contrast between humorous elements in Archer Dreamland and the pools of blood and grotesque bodies is remarkable and memorable. And finally, I am also liking the Poovey fantasy with the Chinese escaped sex slaves.
It has been given more of a Jazz sound to match the theme of this season. I can't begrudge Reed for wanting to work on other parts of the show though. They start interrogating him because it becomes apparent that he has cut the finger from one of the bodies in the morgue. Trinette, after being coldly discarded by Archer comes in handy for Lana on the side of the road with her suggestion for how to fix a radiator. Archer suggest that this could be the work of a werewolf since the moon is full.
Maybe he is really bad but people keep on falling for him because he is so handsome. We also see Figgis and Poovey arrive at Lex Trexler home which is not be guarded and the front door is wide open. The next to arrive is Archer who is still high as a kite, and then Lana, Trinette, and Cecil come. This season has been very tightly scripted, and just flows beautifully; doing less and doing it better has worked out really well for them. I rather suspect that the decision to make Lana an undercover cop happened rather late in the writing process, because otherwise there was no real reason for her to perform such a horribly bad stand-up comedy earlier in the season, nor was there any real motivation to follow Archer to the ransom dropoff.
So, the chase begins with Archer following Poovey and Figgis and Lana following behind them. Archer is shown driving and talking but this time to himself seeing as he is now high on drugs. I'm enjoying Trinette this time around and enjoyed the Seamus egg tossed in when the group met up at Trexler's mansion. Lana intends to explore the mansion alone, telling both Trinette and Cecil to remain behind, but both of them eventually convince Lana to let them come along, mainly because she needs to keep them under her watch. Just knowing that whatever befell the occupants of this mansion was authored by a newly born cyborg in a stolen motorcycle outfit is somehow equal parts terrifying and hilarious. Krieger finally wakes up and warns Lex Trexler about Dutch coming to kill him.
Once he is finally released, he utters the words the cops took it, and Mother knows exactly what that means. Echoing other posters who commented that Trinette and Lana play off each other really well. It has been given more of a Jazz sound to match the theme of this season. The entire time he is beating the hell out of these guys he is talking to his other self which is what Barry does in the previous seasons. Poovey makes a comment about keeping some of the money for themselves.
Once again, we enter Dreamland with all-new episodes that are continuing to tangle Archer in its web. Although the post-war noir setting is probably the best shark jump the series has undergone, I get the feeling that Adam Reed wants to change the setting with each season in order to allow for a fresh perspective in writing. He calls Lex Trexler who is tired of how disappointing Figgis has been. The show and animation has never depicted blood, gore and just general grossness better than they do here. And Lana was an undercover agent.
Figgis leaves the two of them with some speech about raining hell down on them before he departs to his office. I wonder why they don't do them anymore? It also reveals the fate of Woodhouse whose original voice actor died in 2015 , the heroin-addicted valet of Archer dies shortly before the season premiere. It also reveals the fate of Woodhouse whose original voice actor died in 2015 , the heroin-addicted valet of Archer dies shortly before the season premiere. The drop off was at a Topiary Garden, and the bag is dropped off in the one shaped like a mushroom. Is it because of the ratings- if so, I thought that it's guaranteed that Archer is going for 10 seasons and then be done or was that just a rumor? Blood is smeared across the floors of nearly every room and the mansion itself seems completely unoccupied except for ghosts perhaps. I think that he relates more to Pam than Cyril, Kreiger, and Ray. Krieger finally wakes up and warns Lex Trexler about Dutch coming to kill him.
They just need to show up as cops helping in the exchange and then run off with ransom for themselves. Everyone is different rooms, and slowly they see blood covering all the floors, and they all bumped into each other in the foyer. Poovey comes back home to find that all her Chinese sex slave hostages have left, leaving nothing but a goodbye note. While in the coma, he dreams he is a private-eye set on finding justice for his murdered partner Woodhouse, following his comatose self unconsciously hearing from Malory Archer of Woodhouse's death. Frankenstein was, in fact, the doctor. But then he became a fan favorite to the point that I found myself forgetting and wondering why he isn't in the opening credits.
