Director James Bobin retrieves Tim Burton's wonderful visual excessiveness to churn out another Alice movie. After Alice tearfully says that she believes him, Tarrant transforms back to his normal self. The Hatter Johnny Depp has gone darker and madder. Alice sees that Iracebeth is about to run into a clock, the event that deforms her head and personality. I want to start by saying that I have always been a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. However, the Red Queen apprehends them and steals the Chronosphere from Alice, taking the White Queen back to the day she lied about the tart.

Returning to the present, Alice discovers she is too late, as the Mad Hatter is on the brink of death. Other versions usually employ comedians as actors and their performances are always way over-the-top. I suppose people can love both, but I suspect others who, like me, found the Disney treatment of Alice too. Something I've always felt critical to adapting both Alice stories is her precocious nature. This was an amazingly odd version of the book! The film has beautiful scenes.
It was, however, disappointing that so little of the book was included. Chapter Ten — Shaking: Alice arrives and seats herself at her own party, which quickly turns into chaos. The sequence of moves white and red is not always followed. The Red Queen urges Time to go after Alice to find the Chronosphere so she can get even with her sister, the White Queen. Much more in keeping with the book. There, she meets the Red and White Queens, as well as many other amusing friends on her journey across the chessboard countryside to become a crowned queen. One might wish to quibble with the choice of having Alice as the mother drifted off to sleep while reading the story to her daughter.
Some of my other favorite portrayals were Penelope Wilton, who truly embodied the White Queen, Steve Coogan in his brief appearance as the Gnat, and Gary Olsen and Marc Warren as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. It needs more Red Queen's villainy to give Alice more heroism. It featured most of the elements from Through the Looking Glass as well, including as Humpty Dumpty, and a animated version of The Walrus and the Carpenter. When confronted by their mother, Mirana lies about eating the tart, and Iracebeth is accused, causing her to run out of the castle. . The Mad Hatter reunites with his family and the White Queen apologizes to the Red Queen for lying and both of them make amends. Sacha Baron Cohen's Time would probably work better as a supporting character.
