The light will trigger when the engine is running and the camshaft sensor reference pulse is not detected at a correct relative position with the crankshaft pulse. I can't really say whether you need a new crate motor or not haven't they heard of rebuilt engines? The consumer was able to drive to the dealer for inspection. Had them clear the code, drove few more miles and all happens again. It would kinda jerk into the next gear never went over 35 mph and also it kind of sputtered once thru first gear. Car was taken to dealer at 10,383 miles. The contact noticed there was a engine leak and noticed that a few bolts that hold the exhaust pipe were missing.
The code is set because there is a problem with that oxygen sensor heater circuit. Took the beast to a shop. You do that manually by disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 1 minute or two. All didn't change a thing. It is running fine and the same before the incident. These codes will not likely cause the check engine light to illuminate.
Lately, my interior temperature gauge has been showing the outside temperature as being anywhere from around 0 degrees to -10 degrees. Drove the truck home and it felt like it was misfiring as it was jerking around the entire time. Try removing a sensor harness and see if the light comes on. Given these two Chevy engine light codes, I would say they are both caused by the same concern. They told me for now, I just need to drive it until it happens again.
