Worn belts in a Terrain are one of those things that can cause a lot of problems if ignored, while typically being fairly cheap and easy to replace. Causes problems on highway and is dangerous. I m not exactly sure where the high¸ oil consumption was taking place but it seemed to disappear after they repaired the timing chain and bent valves all warranty. The longer duration I drove it the more oil it would consume. Maybe you should buy the needed tools and set up your own business! Its making a sound like its knotting, like if the belt was loose, a check engine light came on after having the oil changed. Had it repaired under warranty. The chain also wore out the chain guides and metal stud holding a section of the guide.
. Not only is the Terrain junk, the dealer is now trying to rip me off! Under 100,000 miles but at 7 years, 2 years beyond warranty. Kept the Terrain, living with the noise.
