I recently read that Sync3 starts booting up as soon as the door is opened, so if this happens again, I'll try leaving the truck off for more than just a few seconds. This is, unfortunatly, a very common problem with those cars. I see this is an older thread, but i have researched for weeks looker for an answer other than the dealer. I guess we're all accustomed to buying electronics or software that doesn't work, then wait for patches to fix the glitches! What actual harness you referring to as lockpick harness? Just curious if my issue is the same as yours. Your screen will then show some digits, but the unit is still unresponsive. Anyone know how to fix this so i dont have to take it to the dealership? You are going to have to get another radio, the expense for the manufacturer to fix is is more expense than a replacement.

If you do not have the code, you'll need to contact a Ford dealership and prove ownership of your vehicle to reset your factory radio code. There probably is more than 1 fuse panel, on the F-350's there's one under te dash, drivers side and one under the hood, by the left hood hinge.
A master reset completely erases all system information: phone book info, call history, text messages, paired devices, saved addresses, and navigation history. On your phone, turn Bluetooth Off, then On. The majority of the issues I was having was directly related to my Lockpick harness crapping out on me. I've disconnected the battery, no dice. If that doesn't help, try putting it in diagnostics mode. No worries, my cable tv box gets confused, and I have to unplug it to reboot, just like Fords new F-150's! First check underneath to see if there is a puddle, if there is then find and fix the leak. No sound no satellite radio or auxiliary.
