The converter is very heavy and filled with fluid — if it falls, it could injure you or your assistant. Remove any starter bolts that are accessible.
This has helped a little but the issue still occasionally persists. I am mechanically inclined, have swapped trans and engines before, but this Sentra is not going as smoothly. Also, when pulling the lines out, be careful not to lose the thin metal washers. Seems like a pain to drop the subframe off to remove the trans. Plug in any top side electrical connectors and vacuum hoses. It is heavy so i suggest you hold one side up and someone else hold another side up so it doesn't slam on you or the ground. They are 21mm and you will need a 14mm to hold the bolt on the bottom of the subframe to keep the bolt from spinning when you loosen the nut. I believe 10mm socket would fit. Wrap a wire around it and tie it wherever you can to clear space for a ratchet, and not put strain on the wires.
Also check the dowel pins on the engine and the dowel pin holes on the transmission as they also must be clean and free of burs. By now you should have a bare sumframe with control arms only, trans only held in place by the top mount and one bolt. You're brave Thanks for the rough write-up. Tip: When pulling the driveshaft out of the transmission, be careful not to allow it to fall hard to the floor. You can do this with the trans about to fall out or still bolted to the mounts.

Slowly lower the trans while pulling it away from the engine. By now all you have left is a trans, nothing connected to it, no axles, no subframe. If it is not in the slots and you bolt it all down, the converter will mess up the trans upon start up.
The foam triggers a sensor that cuts power to the engine. Lift car up e brake all the way up, wheel chalks on rear wheels should be used and drain and trans fluid.
