The contact was unsure about what warning light illuminated. This is an unacceptable situation since the car is unsafe and cannot be sold or traded without repairs being made. It has been going on for over a year; but your form here makes me put just one date down in order to proceed. The approximate failure mileage was 85,056. Dealer could not tell if driver side air bag is working when the warring light is on, go figure! The air bags did not deploy.
The failure mileage was 51,626. Consequence If the wires are damaged, the passenger presence sensory system may fail to recognize that the passenger seat is occupied, disabling the air bag. The consumer declined due to not being able to afford the remaining cost of the repairs. But they have to take the whole front side out to check. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. I am not able to afford the repair so I am driving in a vehicle where if their is an accident, the air bags will not deploy. When I read recall online, it clearly states the wires should be inspected before applying the tape and if not wiring should be replaced for no charge. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. Then I get alarms that someone in the passenger seat was not buckled in, but there was no one in the passenger seat. This started soon after the so called airbag recall was done. The seat displaces her weight evenly across the seat. It will crank over and start. It has been to the chevy dealer more than once not for that light and they haven't even mentioned it.
My airbag did not deploy. While driving unknown speeds, the service air bag indicator illuminated. While at an independent mechanic for repair, the mechanic diagnosed that the wiring harness for the passenger side air bag fractured and needed to be replaced. Most of the time Air Bag stays on but sometimes the fault disappears. Chevrolet is doing another cover up just like the ignition switch.
The contact later received notification of an unknown manufacturer recall for the air bags. The steering also locked up. The vehicle only has 31,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. The contact stated the driver side air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who recommended the replacement of the sensor.

While driving, the driver side air bag warning indicator illuminated. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. They said the recall was only for the passenger seat.
