I've got almost 113,000 miles on this car. Service tech has not found the source. The big news for 2008 is the introduction of Ford's new Sync entertainment and communications system. Of course, none of these controls are necessary if you simply hit the steering wheel's voice control button and learn to use the voice commands. I've only had it in for one repair, other than brakes, tires etc. I do liked this car a lot, and recommend. It's this new dash that is most likely to win over commuters.
Exterior The previous Ford Focus came in two- and four-door hatchback designs, as well as sedan and traditional wagon versions. Almost every aspect is improved, and the striking, winged dashboard draws the eyes immediately. But fit and finish and noise remained weak points. The sedan seems to pull off the new styling better than the coupe, but buyers are likely to miss the hatchback and wagon versions see a with the 2007 Focus. One could argue that this major update was too long in coming.
I quickly became addicted to it and heartily recommend it. Just the amount of room alone is better than the Civic or Corolla. While interior noise is also down from the last model, there is still plenty of road and engine noise, which are typical of economy cars. The front and rear are radically restyled, and around back you can really appreciate what the design team has done. This is surrounded by black plastic top and bottom.
Rattles everywhere in the car, it sounds like there is a turkey in my car in the rear of it while driving. I drove this car every day through Chicago on the Dan Ryan and Lake Shore Drive approximately 120 miles a day! Now I'm stuck with a car that has several problems, from the carpet coming up on the passenger side, which was replaced by the dealership to look even worse. Nor does the Ford Focus soundly beat the competition on price. Fuel economy improved, but it was still not great for the class. An easy-to-use set of climate controls is located below the stereo and Sync controls. This feature could work for golfers or other athletes with oddly shaped gear, but it probably won't help those with bulky luggage.
Really consider this car when you look at buying a new car. I am guessing this is the primer, I work for the Milan plant where we make the fascias of the car, and there are paint issues directly in the factory. Once among our top-rated small cars, this version rated only midpack. This new Focus is an amazing car. I have the Audiophile system and music sounds awesome with the built in Subwoofer in the trunk.
Ford replaced a lot of sheet metal on the new Focus, but the overall effect looks like a patch job. But our analysis shows new gadgetry has done little to change critics' opinion that Ford could do better with the Focus. If you want to get a great vehicle that is inexpensive, but has quality to boot, please look into this car. Nice car, decent gas mileage. The 2008 Focus gets a lot of easy fixes, but it isn't the type of exhaustive redesign this car needed in order to catch up. Headroom is still good in Focuses that do have it. We found Sync to be genuinely useful and fairly easy to use.
The new Focus is just offered in sedan and coupe body styles. Did I mention that this car gets around 35 miles per gallon as well. This year system needs freon again. Along the top are buttons for 10 radio station presets. Unfortunately, Ford has done little with the car since then to keep it in contention with the strong import players in its segment.
Front disc brakes and rear drum. Head room is decent in the sedan, but a bit lacking in the coupe. Due to better exhaust tuning and intake, the horsepower has been upped to 140. The trunk in the back is great for many backpacks and could easily transport even the biggest of suitcases multiple times. The only minor issue I have. It moved us across the Rocky Mountains too. It's a win-win feature that's so affordable and easy to use it's a good bargain even if you're not a technophile.
