Yes Review Date: 29th October, 2011 Thanks for the kind words. With the car tuned, this weakness on the coil pack was shown much earlier. It is not understood, yet not misunderstood. The fuel economy is great, I get about 33 mpg on the highway with the cruise set at 74 mph. The ride is great and the turbo engine has plenty of power.
It is extremely safe and entertaining, overtaking slower traffic with the Sport mode, and after deactivating the Sport mode, everything is back to Doctor Jekyll, cool and calm cruising mode. The car is only missing the cooled seats, but we love all of the options in it. I most enjoy the turbo boost, seats, handling, tightness, exclusivity, looks, and under estimation by others when you need to pass on freeway. Many other brands owned, and own, but love my 9-5. Even the centrally mounted ignition was often misunderstood as an idiosyncrasy in design, but in truth, this is a repositioning of one of the hardest hardware systems in a vehicle from injuring the driver during a frontal crash situation. Otherwise, the usual weakness for car interiors in the tropical environment; both front door handles had the upholstery layer starting to peel off, and the previous owner deliberately peeled them completely off, exposing the plastic underneath. The night panel is another; switches off most lights in the vehicle, other than the most essential, so the driver has a much better vision of the road in a pitch dark environment.
Interior wise, the leather seats are very comfortable, one of the best in the business. We love this Saab 9-5. The coil pack is a consumable, it will break sooner or later, even on a standard car. General Comments: We bought this 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero to replace a 1999 Saab 9-3 that had 160,000 miles on it. The cup holder sticks, and comes down almost never.
Ironically, hard nasty plastics assembled together with ugly bolts and nuts of lesser cars, would survive this weather better. This is a common problem here for higher end cars. Also hit at the port side front by a colleague's Mitsubishi as he didn't see me when he moved out from his parking lot I think that's a camouflage effect of silver vehicles. I love everything about the car and find it challenging to keep out of turbo outstanding gas mileage otherwise. Model year 2007 Year of manufacture 2007 First year of ownership 2010 Most recent year of ownership 2011 Engine and transmission 2. Faults: Things that went wrong are a light malfunction with the xenon light system; should be costly like most parts on the car; I didn't look into it yet.

Had a few skirmishes, hit at the back by a motorbike rider fell asleep! Diagnosis pointed to the failure of Direct Injection Coil Pack. Yes Review Date: 4th April, 2011. It is unique and special, but not loud. We love the heated front and rear seats. It is comfortable and reliable.
It is believed that the increased performance after being tuned, places higher demands on the hardware being in good condition. Plastic on the side of the seats where the seat controls are breaks easily, so really don't put any weight on it at all!! General Comments: I love this car. General Comments: This is a hands on car, which I would put in the maintenance section of German and American cars. And buying it used with the value highly depreciated was one of the best decisions I have made. Yes, I'm still with the Aero. Some of us here are hanging onto ours as long as we can, and I still have mine.
Paddle shift is not very practical for tight turns; a combination of paddle and gear level manual shifting is needed for optimal use of the manual mode. I'm 6'2'' and am a good fit. I have previously owned Japanese cars known for their quality and reliability, and this is indeed true for my experience. Drove to Thailand and back. It is better off leaving the gear in drive mode and let the car shift for the driver, which is smooth and therefore sufficient. But it has to say it is not the latest design, and does not have some of the creature comforts of its competition.
Yet, it is hard to understand the emotional attachment to the car. Faults: Nothing wrong so far. The right rear speaker grill came off slightly, but was easily fitted back into position. It's the best car I've ever owned. The Sport button, once activated, brings immediately the Mr Hyde out of the clinical Doctor Jekyll, and everything turns manic.
I had to help the authorized repair shop to find a donor car from the scrapyard to get all the bumper parts, and the shop thanked me for the support! I must say there's been a temptation to part with it on more than a few occasions, but nothing is better in value in the market for me. . . . . .
