If you buy one used try for the later model years and try and verify when the oil was changed. I have had this trouble since the beginning of August this year almost right at 100,000 miles. It was coming from the front end in particular the front wheel bearings. Power steering was lost, but the wheel was still able to turn. The incidents, thankfully, have only occurred while I was driving, and I have been able to control the vehicle.
Answered on Mar 10, 2016 It is possible that all power for all switches goes thru the driver's door master switch, and the power to this comes thru a bundle of wires coming thru the driver's door hinge area. I went onto consumer affairs. Owner paid mechanic to replace defective control-arm-bushing on front-driver-side. Parts are not currently available. In addition to being a touch physically weaker than I am she is terrified of driving anyway, and I fear if it happened to her she would absolutely have an accident as a result.
Since then, this happened without warning at least 20 times in the past year. Looks like there should be a recall to fix this. The recall began on March 10, 2014. A police report was not filed. The contact stated while driving in reverse approximately 2 mph there was a sudden increase in acceleration and the vehicle crashed into a brick wall.
Road noise is negative, but a nice stereo system cancels out that. This is a known failure with Ions and Cobalts Clunking metallic noise on bumpy roads. Two weeks ago I had the same issues. I told the Saturn service department I would call them back as I am not in a position to pay that right now, so I am not sure what I am going to do. The car presently has 55,000 miles and cannot be driven as the power steering will not allow the car to be controlled. My car was literally slowly cruising through the parking lot without my foot on the gas pedal.
The contact did not receive the recall notice until after the incident occurred. During this maintenance visit, both control arm bushings were replaced, because they split. I think gm should recall this ignition lock and all of these charges for the defective part should be covered by them. I wouldn't go on long trips in it, and you certainly shouldn't take on tractor trailers on the Interstate. The failure mileage was 56,000 and the current mileage was 57,000.
It's not the car owner's fault that the part is bad. A police report was not filed. Note: Until the recall repairs have been performed, it is very important that customers remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the vehicle key. I took my car to my parents house my dad has tools and after several failed attempts to get the key out, I called onstar and they dispatched a local tow truck company to come. What engine does your car have? The car companies apparently know about it because the have installed a small cover under the steering column to remove and push a button to release the key so it can be turned and removed.
How can I make sure that this issue is looked at too? It would have been nearly impossible to steer off the highway at those speeds and no power steering. My car went out of warranty 1 month ago. Currently, the pedal is sticking once again and the contact will call the manufacturer. If the code doesn't point you in direction of fix, get back to us with that code s and we will be happy to assist you further. I need help to start the complaint about the power steering as it will not allow me to safely drive the car at all. I brought it in and this time they said the throttle body was broke.
The contact was driving 5 mph when the vehicle stalled. At first I thought there was some water damage as the first time it happened was right after a car wash so I figured it would dry out and be all right. On black Friday, 2013 she encountered a minor motor vehicle accident in a parking lot where it is my understanding the vehicle shut off. I don't know why it stopped, but since my car is in the recall for the ignition, I would also like this problem looked at. I love how it handles and rides.
The steering sounds take some adaptation since it is motor assisted, not hydraulic. A message that the power steering had failed appeared where the odometer is on the dash. Other than that, I don't have any complaints. The experience buying the car was simple, as well. Finally got a new ignition built and that solved the problem but of course warranty was up and this came out of our pockets.
Also when I called about this recall I was told to bring my car in and get it switched for a rental for 6-8 weeks until my car was finished. I do not want to be locked in my house because I'm afraid to get stranded somewhere. It may take some wire tracing under the dash or you may need to pull out the unit to check the wires and connections. The vehicle was towed to both a private mechanic and the dealer. Answered on Mar 10, 2016. I was then told I would be getting a rental from enterprise and because of my long late hours at work the vehicle would be dropped off that evening to come get after work. The fuel tank is too small for this car.
