Just pull it firmly straight back like you would a dresser drawer. I then restrung the cable over the guides not easy to do and reinstalled the regulator in the door. Use a flathead on each side to leveredge them out a little. Pry this out and there is a lever to release the shifter. What I did was drill a hole through the plastic snap through the window glass hole and put in a small bolt and nut and then epoxy the bolt and nut and the bottom of the window where it engages into the plastic reg cradle. Notice that there's two little notches cut into the cup that holds the pin. You will need to probably replace a switch that attaches to the upper part of your brake. Aug 18, 2014 I had the same problem and found the broken lower cable guide laying in the bottom of the door. Removing the regulator and getting the new one into place can be tricky. Make sure you Order the correct one. Check for videos on Youtube for your model and year to watch step by step instructions. I hope that this helps! I drilled 2 holes thru the lower end of the regulator and remounted the guide with 2 screws. Replace in reverse order it really is easy just a little time consuming.
