You can swap out harness plug with an upgrade version, or use a pin insertion tool to add the socket, or rig it with a multi-conductor wire jammed into the plug hole. You will need to remove the rear package shelf to install this. The gain control is only at 25% to get the same volume as the original setup, so it was more than adequate. Stability features don't work properly with one small tire. If you need to replace a blown fuse in your Altima, make sure you replace it with one that has the same amperage as the blown fuse. I also purchased the rear shelf and replaced it with the one with the Bose speaker grills. Either way, the parts are at the dealer and will be installed tomorrow.
The two biggest hurdles to this upgrade from non-Bose to Bose is the fact that 1 you will need to specify to the junk yards that you must have the connectors on the back of the radio and the amp in order to make the wiring work correctly and 2 there is some modification needed to the radio face plate sort of. You slide the unit toward you. I think it is just a missing wire between the head unit and the speedometer, but I would like some assurance. If checking and replacing the fuse for the component in question doesn't work, we recommend seeking assistance from a trusted professional mechanic. None of the base system speakers can be used so I had to purchase the two front end dash tweeters, the two front door speakers, the two rear door speakers there are none inside the rear doors of the base system and the rear tweeters on the rear shelf. I thought the sound was a great improvement to the base system.
