I am very displeased with the outcome especially being a loyal customer for many years. This transmission unit includes a transmission case, valve body, tail shaft and housing, torque converter automatic only , and all internal lubricated parts. I find it hard to believe that a car company could be aware of a design flaw that is more likely to occur than not but not stand behind the vehicle and take care of it regardless the miles. While my family and I were not hurt, it was a close call and could have easily been worse at the speed I was going and the effect the failure has on the vehicle. This transmission unit includes a transmission case, valve body, tail shaft and housing, torque converter automatic only , and all internal lubricated parts. An available electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission is based on the transmission used in the both the Titan and Armada with an emphasis on acceleration, fuel economy and shift quality. The Xterra Off-Road model includes unique blue or charcoal seat fabric.
This is total loss of the vehicle since it doesn't make any sense to repair at this price a vehicle with less resale value than the cost of the repair. Buying a used 2006 Nissan Xterra transmission from a non-reliable dealer is an unnecessary risk. How do you make a car this bad? It is low and is partially obscured by the main wiring harness. Had to have the valve body replaced. I am a Toyota man now. Holding up traffic, had to keep my hazards on. Searched on line and found that there are many Nissan's from 2005 -2007 with this failure.
Needed 4-wheel drive due to the area we live and kids to be safe. When will Nissan admit their mistakes and own up to it and recall all said cars and trucks affected and reimburse the consumers for the monies that has been shelled out so far. The vehicle has not been repaired. Just wrong, I will never buy anther Nissan again. I am never purchasing another Nissan. This is a major safety hazard as I don't wish to be driving along when my truck stalls and I'm rear-ended by another vehicle or by a tractor trailer god forbid. This car got her through college.
I feel like I have a possible lemom? Regardless, it didn't apply to me because I was at 82k miles. It shouldnt matter how many miles you have on the car it was a defective design by Nissan and should have been corrected. Periodically, we announce extensions to the standard vehicle warranty. In addition, all Xterra models add a standard glove box lock, lamp and damper, available satellite radio and a new exterior color Midnight Blue , and new interior color for off-road models Charcoal. Has one already been filed I can join? There are 4 choices for the 2006 Nissan Xterra Transmission Assembly!!! They have indemted dimples, side walls are wearing out and tread is wearing uneven. I was also told that both needed to be replaced. All 4 tires had to be replaced and all 4 tires are going bad again.
I charged the battery, just to be sure. And they flushed the transmission. In fact the letter sent to the consumers doesn't even reference the transmission in which it destroys. Nissan has yet to admit that the 05 Xterra's have radiator faults and recall said vehicles. No warning and no indication of failure. The contact stated that while on an incline facing upward and when the vehicle was in drive it will rolled backwards.
For 2006, the Power Package is standard on the S model, which includes immobilizer with vehicle security system and alarm, remote keyless entry, power door locks, mirrors and windows, and cruise control. The Power Package is available on the new X model. After reviewing my complaint they told me there was nothing they could do for me. I am truly disappointed with how Nissan treats their customers and will never purchase a Nissan vehicle again!. The first set was repealced around 3000-4000 miles. Powering the Xterra is a standard 4.
Once filled to the full line, sit in the truck and run it through all the gears. Warranty covers the transmission case, torque converter included for automatic transmissions only and all internal components. I do hope that in the near future there will be some resolution to this issue as I am not made of money and don't own another vehicle to use at my disposable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Nissan should replace radiators on all models effected and should replace transmissions in any vehicles that have had this failure. After replacing the battery something happened to the transmission. Had it towed to a mechanic.
Nope doesn't matter after 121000 miles and I bought it passed that! The glove compartment is a double deck design with an added lock, lamp and damper for 2006. It had never broken down before and was so sudden. I wondered why I keep losing fluid in my radiator, now I know where it is going. This problem is well known by Nissan but unfortunately not by me or I would have gotten rid of the vehicle before this happened. This problem is most common with 2005 to 2008 model Nissans.
