Also, not an everytime occurrence. Hell, my Dodge pick-up I traded for this car did better then this! I loved it new and still love it 7 years later but Ford has made crap transmissions for decades and this is no different. My personal preference is Brenspeed. Almost feels like it's originating in middle of car under driver seat or slightly behind. The brand name is badly tarnished, in my eyes. Tuesday morning when shifting into reverse the car would not move. Dealership can't duplicate problem and therefore can't make any repairs to car.
I've been running mine with the hard shifts for about 13,000 miles now. They cannot duplicate the failure. My car started jerking when I put in reverse and drive. How did Ford miss this? I called the service manager back to ask him to save all the parts that i wanted to be able to verify that the transmission was taken out if the car and a new one would be put in. I have 78000 miles on it and have only had the car three years. Owners report transmission complete failure from 15,000 miles.
Now driving my 02 mustang , 122,000 miles no problems. During subsequent drives, engine appears to accelerate from a full stop but then stalls. Now that I haven't got a warranty on it something inside transmission breaks and now I have to have new one. I do not have equipment to lift the car so tell me how am I to know if it needs changing not by mileage are its just low and needs topping off. No bleeder port so do your best to drain and refill.
Transmission failed locked in 1st, first started with difficult shifting from neutral to 1st gear. Service manager said Ford Motors adjusters look at how i had used there service department for oi changes etc to discount the price of transmission cost and that I had only used Ford service department a few times. Why should we pay 100% of their asking price to buy the vehicle, when they only deliver a car that will run 50000-70000 miles before a major failure? The warranty on Ford Motor Company products provides both time and mileage consideration for warranty covered repairs. I do not feel safe in this vehicle. Also at lower speeds I feel the car slipping especially on turns. While accelerating from a full stop and turning onto side street, the engine appeared to accelerate and then stopped in the middle of the turn in the middle of oncoming traffic.
And by the way the signal on the dash is for low transmission fluid pressure not high? My mechanic won't touch these new trannies. Dealership can't duplicate problem and therefore can't make any repairs to car. It's not as if this is new technology and why is it they wait so long to two years to address such a major issue. Gear shift jerked when shifting in to reverse to back up. One because the fuel pump was bad, the second because there was a throttle variance and a variance in the transmission and the wrench came on in the vehicle then disappeared.
My second was destroyed in a wreck and the third one is the problem. I try to ease through it as slow as possible to give it time to shift smoother, but doesn't seem to help much. I have a new 2006 V6 Southern California Special with an automatic transmission. Ford dealership called and said instead of waiting for adjuster they would fix it for 2595. Going to cost almost half of the blue book value to repair this Mustang!! I took it into a shop and they said the computer struggles as to what gear it needs to go into at slow speeds.
I have been harder on my Jeep than I have on the mustang. I can not afford to take it into a auto shop just to check the tranny oil once a month. I have read a lot of Ford vehicle issues with transmission problems at low mileage. Dry, lower to moderate livable humidity, with temps in mid 70s. It's not even four years old yet and the automatic transmission has failed. Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company.
If accelerator is pressed quickly enough, the engine does not stop; however, it may exhibit the stall a second time. You can get the tuner and his preprogrammed tunes for three grades of gas. The failure can occur during a turn across traffic or while moving straight ahead from the stop - either of which could result in an accident. On my ford page when I took it in instead of putting transmission trouble they put something else. At 35,000 miles, I took my car in for the Transmission service which is nothing but flushing the fluids and putting in new.
It would not move into first gear or reverse and there was no indication that something was wrong with the tranny prior to failure. This car was never abused and garage kept. I thought just the opposite. A huge difference is noticed this way. Happens at just over 20 mph shifting into 3rd, hard shift, and less often reverse sometimes too. It is unacceptable to have to replace the transmission with low mileage. It also is very intermittent but, if it is going to happen, it will be following a full stop.
I was told it 9999 thousand miles before that coverage was up. It also is very intermittent but, if it is going to happen, it will be following a full stop. Both time and mileage impacts a vehicle as part of the natural aging process. Does not do it all the time but when it does it once driving somewhere, it will usually do it every shift that time the car is turned on. While drive I hear a rattling noise underneath the gear shift. This is when I was told it was a rebuilt transmission going back in with a 3 yr unlimited mileage warranty going back in it.
