I heard rattling and I decided to take my car to an auto mechanic shop, which is closer than going home. Basically my whole engine would torque during acceleration and caused the car to feel very sluggish. Also, if I was to leave the doors open the you can see the doors shaking. The vibration gets worse in drive and reverse but it is still present in park and neutral. But I was told that since the car warranty of 60,000 miles had passed and I didn't take my car to a Toyota authorized auto shop they won't deal with my car problem. Probably to avoid that vibrating under load idle.
Especially in very cold temps and short trips. The contact stated while driving approximately 1 mph, the engine stalled without warning. . Turn the steering wheel and it raises slightly. I can sense the shaking when accelerating in all gears and even more so in 5th gear. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
A vacuum leak will cause you to run lean, not rich, so that isn't it. As the others have said, any variation in idle speed will cause strange stuff. From past experience I have found that tires just slightly out of round really have a big impact on the Coralla. Anyone got a comment to help. Sorry I had to zip the video files as it wont allow me upload avi. Is there any way I can prove that differential was not the problem for vibration and may get back some money. The approximate failure mileage was 31,427.
I was getting vibration when I drive between 60 - 70 miles. Unless your vehicle requires it, using fuel with a higher octane rating other than Regular will do nothing for the engine, but it will empty your wallet faster. Is there some way to evaluate condition of the struts? I cant feel it in the steering wheel and it is contant when I accelerate but only above 55 mph. Pls post back should you need additional information. The manifold rattle, yes have read about that too, but there was one ytube and the noise was much louder that your tappety sound, though like mine it could be in the very early stages.
I don't mess around with shimmy shakes anymore, I fix it immediately. I think you may be right about the contributing to the noise a little. I would be surprised if the problem was engine mounts since your car is only 4 years old. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated in conjunction to harsh shifting. Sound like you have the smallest of weeps, for now I would perhaps just leave it alone till you get main problem sorted. I took it back to the same Toyota dealership and they told me they don't know what's wrong and would have to run more diagnostic test that would cost additional money.
My first thought was the engine mounts need to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. Finally they found that there is some issue with differential. The rpm sound the same as my engine, though never really been aware of any undue vibration, which i think I would have spotted before now, but will take particular note when I go out tomorrow. The vehicle had not been repaired.
The failure and current mileage was 152,379. I took it to the shop and they came to the conclusion that the engine was gone. It was an automatic and mine is a 5 speed, and both the cars did this. Tires are round and balanced, but car still shakes. It seems to be a perkier when I hit the accelerator. After the mounts were all replaced it just got worse.
I am very surprised your Toyota dealer didn't catch this! Doesn't go up or down. The problem is more likely to be a fault motor or transmission mount. What method can i use to check the injectors? I was quickly told it could be fixed. Only 500 rpm between the 2. I got rear ended about a month ago and i think the exhaust headers are a bit loose the muffler is bent a bit too the vibration deff has something to do with the exhaust it doesnt seem to have a constant flow and the muffler is warm to the touch after running but not hot as it should be it is running alot better. If I were you I would get the transaxle mount checked. Again, assuming you are thinking of a sticking throttle, its quiet possible the inside of the throttle spindle holding the butterfly valve is gummed up, you can use a carb cleaner and toothbrush etc to help clean that.
