I would go with full synthetic with what ever the reccomended weight is for your vehicle. No check engine lights or warning lights are visible. I replaced the radiator with an aftermarket that cost about 100 bucks through eBay. I just got off the phone with a master tech in virgina and this is what he told me. This morning when i went to start the truck, the oil pressure gauge was moving with the throtle gauge then just went all they way up past the H??? I Let my mechanic look over ours because I know nothing about vehicles. What viscosity motor oil are you using? The differences are so small that there would be no noticable affect on your vehicle.
I hope that someone finds another explanation because we really love the truck and would hate to back out of our purchase. If the freon leaks out, the pressure drops and the oil cannot circulate because there is not enough freon to push it through the system. I noticed that under the oil filter was covered with oil and this piece was also covered in oil and I think that this is what is causing the leak. It's an easy and cheap fix to replace the O-rings on the oil cooler. Only the oil pressure gets it up to the sender unit. I bought the truck at 50K and should not have had this problem.
While it is not terribly annoying, it does make you wonder if there are additional problems besides the oil pressure sensor. Edited January 5, 2012 by Towncivilian oil cooler. Still pricey but a thousand times cheaper than a new engine. Full synthetic is the best. Failure of these switches is very rare. I changed the oil on my 06 Pathfinder on Saturday, 4 days ago and all was fine. I would like to know if the dash warning light is still in working order even though my oil pressure gauge is not. Is the inside of the engine slugged up? I got the oil changed on Tuesday, and Thursday, the needle is pegged at high and won't move, regardless of idle, rev, or even sitting overnight.

While driving, it read fine but would drop again at stop lights. He is one of those very arrogant guys that oozes so much confidence in his own opinions that it would take an appearance from God Himself to change his mind. I will let you all know once I hear something. I don't drive it that often so, I'm not exactly sure when it started. Many of the different brands are all actually produced from the same company with different labels on them. An after market air suspension kit was installed which led him to think that the previous owner probably towed something heavy, causing the engine wear. I was traveling home today from a weekend trip and noticed that the oil pressure gauge was maxed out cruising along at 75. With the placement of the oil filter, it is common for people to get oil on their starters when doing oil changes.
Had faulty oil psi indications twice prior. I bring back to the dealership because now the check oil light comes on because the pressure gets so low. Now, later the same day, it is going to the H level immediately when started and doesn't flexuate at all during travel. When taking a 2nd look at your picture, I don't see a wire for the sender unit. I have not had this fixed yet as I have only driven the car about 4000 miles in the last year.

You must have simple understand of your Pathfinder Oil Pressure Switch that you can find some problem correct in time.
I am pretty sure I have all the common defects fixed these vehicles have. On two accounts, both on 05 Frontiers, with low oil pressure at ldle when completely warmed up. It can be identified by its gold color. Should any of you find a solution, I beg of you - please come back here and post your findings! It speaks volumes that we have all found this thread from Google searches - obviously the problem was severe enough, and due to the lack of assistance from our dealerships, that we needed to take it upon ourselves to find a solution. They also sell an inexpensive oil pressure tester that easily attaches to the oil filter mount. Almost every one that I have replaced was not because the switch didn't switch, but because it was leaking freon.
