Could my catilatc converter by baf. The wiring or harness is not covered to prevent entanglement or other objects from contacting the wiring. I have had the throttle body cleaned, the connections cleaned, fuel pump replaced, a new battery installed, throttle position sensor reprogrammed twice and the powertrain control module replaced. I know the parts are available, and it is possible to change the physical gears. I've had wiring problems and a recall on the blower wiring. I said, it won't start.
So I had to sit and wait for roadside assistance to come and tow it to the dealership. It clicks really bad when you go to try and start it. Now it just clicks and won't start for about 30 minutes or so. I had worked the overnight shift and was ready to go home. Also had an issue of it getting stuck so I would turn it on and the off so the key would release. I have 2 sons with handicaps and a third child in the vehicle and it's cold here in Illinois this week. I brought the battery in and put it on the charger since I have been trying to crank the engine so many times and then I took it to the local auto parts store and had they load test the battery.
Its very frustrating because we cant figure out the problem. The plastic piece on rear window exterior had to be glued on twice. To get the car started all you have to do is hook up a donor vehicle with a set of jumper cables. Corrosion in the distributor is a known issue with the V6. Cranks but will not start. So I took it to the worthless Chevrolet dealership that I got it from to have the problem resolved.
I then tested the resistance on both the negative and positive cables leading directly to the starter and it reads 00. By this time the extended warranty had ran out. Yet, it still does this clicking thing and won't start 90% of the time. That when I read about alot more people having the same problem and gm wont help fix the problem. Oct 30, 2011 Check and make sure your glow plug controller is putting out voltage to your glow plugs, make sure voltage to your glow plugs is cycling.
. I suppose those were my clues that this vehicle has a problem electrical system. When I bought the vehicle it ran okay for the first week or so then it started to make this grinding noise and push back when I would push on the brakes. Then I replaced the crankshaft sensor and it ran great for 5 mouths now all of the sudden the security light comes on to when I try to start it? Do not throw parts at it. They still didn't find a problem with it. I've searched the web for similar issues only to find nothing.
There is a recall on the flat window, with the same problem. It would turn over, turn over, then not catch. I hear that this year had problems on the steering column, or something with the air bag. Perform test procedures and repair as necessary. I would recommend using a diagnostic flow-chart to go through the ignition circuit. Well thanks Einstein how about fixing it! Then suddenly just died while I was turning onto a main road luckily I could put it into reverse and let it roll back off the main road and back onto the side street.
Once again, thank God for this site and the web because the brakes and electrical are major complaints listed here. Replaced plugs, the old ones were at about. I pulled over and could not get the engine to start again. I recently purchased a Die Hard battery roughly a year ago and took it out to have it tested and it seemed to be ok. After testing we found the crankshaft sensor to be bad and once we replaced it everything came back to life. They came back on briefly but then died again. I guess when it was dry the coil made enough spark to arc across but when wet it wouldn't.
Have an assistant turn the key on, you should hear the pump turn on for approximately 2 seconds. We have approximately 500 recalls at any one moment in time it seems. Push the accelerator to the floor while holding the key in the start position if your Silverado has not started after 10 seconds of cranking the engine. No questions asked or hesitation. Problem with the Truck is it turns over but won't start. I'd wait a few minutes, put the car in neutral, rock it a bit and it would start. Tried to crank up my truck after letting it sit a week and it would not start. I got out and check the battery connections, battery which is fairly new and the starter relay on the fuse block.
