The dealer stated that the instrument panel cluster gauge was failing and needed to be replaced. It was an easy install, taking about 15 minutes to do the swap. Researched the problem and it appears Chevy is replacing the instrument cluster for this problem on up to 2004 vehicles but not 2005 although it appears the problem is rampant among Avalanche owners. I watched the gauge and the problem seemed to have corrected itself. How long will it take to get it back? No one can tell me exactly what the problem is and I don't want to waste money trying to figure it out.
